But can anyone help me out with a tl;dr on that ineligible player downfield penalty. What makes a player eligible/ineligible? Why would that player not know that they're ineligible, does their status change play-to-play?

Considering maybe only 3/4 QBs are consistently excellent when pass dependent, and more than said number(s) can win with a good run game, aren’t the wrong conclusions being drawn with these “advanced” stats?
