App store still asking for password despite double click side button being on (alien.top)

Really confused about this and it's becoming frustrating because I set and forget my password because of how convenient face id is.

I want to be able to double click the power button to download apps. My iPhone used to do it and now it doesn't. Any idea where this is going wrong?
