On my iPhone 6s Plus when I double tap the home button, without actually clicking the button, this screen shows up. I don’t think this is possible on phones without a home button but what is it for?
Since the screen is large, when using one handed, it may not be possible to reach the icons which are at the top. Hence, when you engage this, the screen comes down for easier access.
