Last year the Lions were 1-6 heading into week 9. They went 8-2 the rest of the way. Which team, with a horrible record right now, do you think will finish the season off strong and be a spoiler along the way?

Last year the Dolphins were 8-3 heading into week 13 and then finished off with 5 straight losses, almost missing the playoffs. Which team, with a great record right now, do you think will end the year with a bad streak of losses?

My fear is that my Lions are about to come up against a bunch of bad losses. 5 divisional games (which always can go either way) two of which are against the Vikings who are putting together a streak and getting healthy plus 2 more against the Bears who have a mobile QB that seem to give the Lions D fits. Plus the Cowboys! Maybe its the 30 year Detroit fan in me expecting the worst, but I fear them even losing the division. Its set up too perfectly for us Lions fans to have the proverbial "ball pulled out by Lucy" in week 16-18.

The Vikings, and I’m not sure which one.

[–] mynameiszack@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Well I did have a dream last night that they won on a go ahead rushing touchdown with Mattison.

Were used to that being the story tho

Although I feel like this may be the closest we’ll be for keeping that championship standard. We don’t have too many players in a contract year for the next season or two, and unless Flores gets the fit he’s looking for, I imagine he sticks around for a bit.

Hey would one of y'all please say the Raiders so I can be happy for 18 more hours?

[–] ambientdonkey@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

The Raiders will get hot and make the playoffs, then fire Pierce and give Matt Patricia a 10 year contract.

Idk that it’s unexpected but we should be the shoe-in for a collapse. I think the Bills could actually go on a run if they shape up.

Last year's Lions were losing a lot of close games early in the season, so a late-season run wasn't out of the question. They nearly beat the Eagles in week 1, only losing by 3 points.

Lions are for real, they won’t tank.

[–] YRUSOLOST@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Seahawks will collapse

[–] makeflippyfloppy@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Texans run Jags collapse under hair locks

[–] Stealthychicken85@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

My vote is either Jaguars or Seahawks

[–] tony_countertenor@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Surely Pittsburgh will lose a bunch, Denver or the chargers could go on a run

[–] utopia_mycon@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I think the Bills might surprise people. They've got this guy, Josh Allen, who's historically been a pretty good QB, and he even has some good receivers now with Diggs and Kincaid. The defense is hurt, but AJ Epenesa has been filling Matt Milano's big Pepperidge-Farmer-shaped shoes pretty well. For the first time in a hot minute we even have a running back!

The upcoming schedule is pretty tough but if they beat the Jets I think they can take one of 3 from the chiefs/eagles/cowboys (probably the latter) and maybe squeak into a wild card slot.

basically if joe brady has one or two brain cells I think we'll be alright

[–] __m3@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Denver. Minnesota already started too

I honestly think the Steelers have a good chance to sorta collapse as this season goes on. We lost our two starting linebackers for the season, Minkah is out for an undetermined period of time, and now our second safety Keanu Neal is on IR too. With the injuries to Watson and Burrow people have joked about the Steelers getting really lucky, but honestly our defense is abysmal right now outside of defensive line and Joey Porter Jr. (and even then Cam Heyward and Larry Ogunjobi, the two defensive tackles we used most last year, are playing well below their play last year), and any team with a decent O-line or QB that can get the ball out quickly should carve us up. I don't think any game left on our schedule will be easy.

My pick would be Rams run and one of Browns/Ravens/Steelers collapse

[–] Leopold_Bloom_@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Cowboys always knock themselves out of the playoffs.

[–] ECircus@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Buccs make the playoffs. Dolphins shit the bed.

[–] wahdatah@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Bucs ready to roll while dolphins choose to eat d

[–] BionicleBirb@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

At worst Detroit splits the divisional games. 2-3 in that stretch wouldn't kill them.

[–] OverlyOptimisticNerd@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

The Cardinals have been tough in almost every game and they have Kyler back. They’re going to be a spoiler.

The Eagles are 8-1, going into a murderous 4-gam stretch l, followed by Seahawks (always play us tough), the Giants (division, no matter how bad they are), the Cardinals (see above), and the Giants again.

I expect them to be no worse than 13-4, but I could totally see them limping into the playoffs.

[–] tdomer80@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Steelers will collapse. Their stats suck. Their record is better than they are.

With Burrow & Watson out for the season, I can see the AFC North only sending one team to the playoffs, which is the Ravens and all of the others crumble.

A week ago everyone was thinking all 4 AFC North teams would be in the playoffs…

[–] Maj0r_Ursa@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

The Dolphins again, but I guess it doesn’t count when it’s expected

[–] nickstee1210@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I’ve said it once I’ll say it again the jets limp to getting Aaron Rodgers back win 4 games to go 11-6 and win the Super Bowl

[–] KeyAfternoon77@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (2 children)

Steelers are winning the sb

I’m here for the comments that are picking totally expected teams to do well & expected collapses. My picks: buccaneers make a run (not just division title, threat for bye) & Dolphins have their annual Hanukkah collapse

[–] nodudenotagain@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Yeah… get over your Lions ptsd. We’re not losing the division.

[–] Blue-Eyes-WhiteGuy@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

The colts are gonna run!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Their record straight into the ground

[–] AIIfather@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Chargers, their D Line murders weak O Lines and they’ve got a pretty easy remaining SOS in those regards

[–] Master_Jecht@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Browns will make it to the super bowl somehow only to be beaten by Josh Dobbs who they cut

Rams are gonna squeeze into the NFC race if Williams and Stafford come back 100%

[–] Minute-Ad6142@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Well I consider the Lions as one of the SB contenders, so if Dobbs beats yall we can at least appreciate the hell of a story he's writing

[–] Imnotsureanymore8@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Damn, First Take in here looking for content.

[–] iloveeveryfbteam@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Seahawks will heat up at the perfect time, go Hawks!

[–] 0hioHotPocket@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I know you all hate us. But don't sleep on us.

[–] britishmetric144@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

The Seahawks will probably go 1—4 in the next five at best, or possibly 0—5.

Dont be surprised if the Bucs dont make a run and Im pretty sure Miami's going to drop a few as the weather gets cold.

[–] Himathememegod@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

It's time for Ron Riveras yearly late season run to give us hope only to suit ourselves and get eliminated while somehow beating Dallas week 18
