He also directed the Star Trek DS9 episode "Bar Association". That's the episode where Rom embraces Marx, and O'Brien lets us know what sort of people are more than heroes.

The irony is that he did ask to and Rick Berman shut him down despite no other cast member being turned down after Frakes broke the seal. Dude got fucked over so hard.
The more I learn about behind-the-scenes stuff on various Star Trek productions, the more surprised I am that so much of it turned out well despite the abusive assholes who ended up in most of the producer and executive producer roles. Berman and Kurtzman are the real villains.

I should have said it differently. I obviously understand that genitals do not equal gender. I'm rather tired today, and was thinking of it as like, she thinks women are people with vaginas, so when she says women(/in the case also mothers), she's just hiding behind her genitals. Pretty sure they mean the bioessentialist rhetoric of gender comes from genitals at birth. It's an absurd claim that transphobes hide behind.
I absolutely agree with you. I phrased myself badly. Women solely being people with vaginas is her view, that's why I said it that way. She boils being a woman down to what you were born with, so when she employs "women" that's what she means. I was (still am) very tired. I'm sorry. Trans women are women, genitals do not determine what you are.
If LeVar Burton thinks you're trash then you should probably re-evaluate who you are. He's cool as hell and I met him at my school once! He was handing out books to kids because he really does take child literacy seriously because he's cool as hell

LeVar Burton is a wonderful person and I got into the humanities because Reading Rainbow got me interested in them, true story.
I think he also raises a lot of money for AIDS research too.
