So I understand in order to be able to install apps from other countries' app stores, you have to create a new Apple ID and select the respective country when creating it. Then you can login using this other Apple ID and apps should be available (VPN might be needed, but that's secondary). But how is the app being maintained / updated if you use your original Apple ID most of the time, and rarely (if ever) use the "foreign" one?

TIA

Apps which are updated are handled by each individual itunes account. If an update is pushed it will update accordingly but minor versions may not initiate the update requiring you to login to the affected account and manually update

On the AppleTv this is easy, you add another user account and download apps from that store, the updates are automatic.
