I am going mental. I have an Apple tv 4k… the remote has always turned on our tv and soundbar. Nothing has changed regarding connections or settings. Tv has hdmi cec enabled and sound bar is connected to hdmi arc. The tv is an LG and the soundbar is Samsung. The tv may have done an automatic update recently but I don’t recall for certain.

I have unplugged everything.. checked all settings. But the apple tv remote only turns on the apple tv now. Is this an issue with a recent tv os update? It’s the only thing that I can think of. It started doing this a few weeks ago.

Is there anyone in this community that has experienced this? Is there a fix?? Thanks

Is everything else with the remote working? I had an issue recently where the volume wouldn’t work and resetting the remote (holding home + volume down for 5 seconds) fixed it.

I have reset the remote... didn't help. I think it is something with the HDMI configuration... not the remote itself.

My Apple Remote has stopped controlling the volume on my non-HEC amp, if I got to volume control settings it continually resets itself to “auto” and I have to flip it back to the Pioneer Receiver and it’s driving me bonkers. Some recent update has done this.

The latest update broke this for me too!

It gave me an excuse to buy a new soundbar, I programmed the Apple TV remote to use the IR from the soundbar to do volume.

It’s not the best since the mute doesn’t always work and it’s not as smooth as it was before but it works.

Apple broke something with the latest update.
