It's insane. Other than money-spending contests to see who has the biggest paper wad, what could a human, personally, possibly get out of a net worth over 9 digits? What is missing from their life at $100,000,000 that they have at $1,000,000,000? 100 mil is a penthouse in New York City, a dozen vacation homes in a dozen countries, a private jet, and enough money left over that sitting in the fucking bank and making interest (even excluding more profitable passive uses of such a fortune) would give you another million every year to fritter the fuck away.
