  1. Fields + Harrison Jr. and Laiatu Latu

  2. Williams or Maye and Latu

  3. Harrison Jr. and JJ McCarthy + Harbaugh

  4. Another option

I’d be torn between options 2 and 3, personally. I think Harbaugh would restore respectability to the organization and might be enticed by the opportunity to continue coaching McCarthy, who is still really young and moldable. It’s easy to forget the kid isn’t even 21 yet and can still add a lot of mass to his frame. Personally, I’m ready to move on from Fields and start over, too.

If we get Hardbaugh, I'm willing to wait on Fields. The way he turned around someone who was considered to be one of the biggest bust in Alex Smith, is what gives me hope.

[–] Cocky_Idiot_Savant@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Choice 3 all day.

[–] reverieontheonyx@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

CW & Fashnu.

[–] paintingnipples@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Harbaugh strikes me as the type that would draft Williams or Maye if he thought they were the better prospects so u still get option 2 with harbaugh

[–] Testone1440@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

The Harbaugh thing will never happen because he and Warren DISPISE each other from when he ran the big10

[–] pleasedontbingme@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

It all depends on how Fields finishes, where our picks land, and how much of the staff and front office we retain.

[–] t-pat@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Idk about Latu specifically, but if you put a gun to my head and made me pick right now, I'd say 2, then 1, then 3. I don't see the point in using valuable draft capital on a mid-first-round type QB when we have Fields, who I think is performing at the level you typically expect from a mid-first-round QB

That being said, I really hope that over the next 7 games, Fields convinces us all that case 1 is the best option

I want Fields to succeed with the Bears. I know he's struggled, but I'm a fan of his, so I will root for him to turn it around. Honestly I kinda don't want the first two picks because I don't want to see anymore debate about Williams.

Not gonna lie, 3 sounds like the best case scenario, but my gut is telling me it ends up being 1. Which ain’t half bad. Would be pretty bummed if we didn’t get MHJ

[–] Dingowarr@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Maye + Harrison Jr

but...if Fields can rock these next 7 games, go 5-2 and score 28+ points a game, then he's a keeper. If JF1 just scores 14 or so point a game, and loses most of them, sorry, but thanks and goodbye.

[–] ArtMorgan69@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Maye and Bowers/Coleman

Daniels and MHJ/Bowers/Coleman

Still have to see what Fields does though. If by some miracle he becomes a quicker decision maker and passes the eye test to close the season the best possible outcome is still Fields being our guy.

Harbaugh is not leaving college

[–] BuffaloBrain884@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

100% option 2.

The Bears need to come away from this draft with Williams or Maye.

[–] Further_Beyond@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Option 4.

  • Qb with panthers pick.
  • MHJr or trade back and take Keon Coleman with our pick
[–] Standard_Employee751@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Fields-MHJ-Latu 1000%

[–] alexamerling100@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago
[–] Beginning_Home_3554@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

No Fields option. Williams (don't believe the negative hype) and Latu is the right answer.

[–] SurferSting84@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Harbaugh - MHJ - Fields - LT from Penn State - Center from georgia

[–] leonitrous@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

MHJ No matter what.

[–] yoosername456@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Depends on rest of year and cuts for sure but I know not 3. Right now Maye and Edge if one separates themselves, then the center from Georgia.

[–] cubs_070816@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

if fields finishes strong, #1 and it ain't even close.

i don't want harbaugh within a mile of this franchise.

[–] DeadAlready78@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Fields can go warm the bench somewhere else

[–] drummerboysam@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I think JJ will be a good QB. Harbaugh is legit. Harrison is incredible.

I really don't know if Harbaugh to Chicago will work. Kevin Warren probably has a rapport with him from his Big 10 commissioner days. But I wonder how a Poles/Harbaugh dynamic would look, and I really don't see the Bears firing Poles or giving him the quiet demotion that a Harbaugh hire would be.

[–] MiddleNameIsJoe@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Fields is a bad quarterback. Williams or maye might be a good quarterback. Quarterback is the most important position on the field.

[–] PeanutBear33@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Anything that involves not fields and not poles

[–] sylvester_69@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I’m so lost on the harbaugh love. When there’s guys who are currently coaching and designing some of the best offenses in the NFL, we want the guy who might be a good delegator?

[–] porkbellies37@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Number 1 but with an offensive coach who calls more than 35 drop backs per game.

[–] MoistTheAnswer@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

1 or 3.

The only thing that matters is getting Marvin Harrison Jr. After that, I don’t care what we do. I’m fatigued of it all.

MHJ is a can’t miss prospect and I would take him first overall. He needs to be on the roster.

[–] leahyrain@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I don't see how people think a new rookie qb would end up doing well on the bears. We gotta be like the lions and build a solid base first.

[–] AssLunatic@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago
  1. The best way to create a durable championship window is to acquire a SB-caliber QB as one of the last pieces of the rebuild. Maximize the rookie contract and give the QB a chance to develop into the god-tier while on their rookie deal, so that when they resign they won't need as complete of a roster.

The best course of action is to resign Fields at a very reasonable number, and then incubate opportunities once you have a solid line, weapons, defense and Fields as the QB bridge if we draft one.

[–] patchinthebox@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

MHJ no matter what. He is by far the best prospect in my opinion. MHJ all day.

[–] Accomplished-Bear357@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago
[–] Critical-Adhole@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Williams over everything

[–] oxburger15@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Option 2. We have seen enough of fields at this point to know he isn’t taking us to where we want to go. Even if he finishes strong I hope we can trade him away for something

[–] Signal_Possibility63@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Williams - Trade back for an extra second and still pick up Nabers/Coleman

[–] sparkles1887@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Folks, Harbaugh is not coming to the bears… ever.

[–] rIIIflex@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

If fields ends the season doing well, not good enough to keep for sure, but promising enough to keep trying and we can’t trade him for anything significant, my favorite move is MHJ + Latu/Chop/Dallas then move up in the second for Jayden Daniels or Penix or JJMc whoever is there.

This way our receiver room is stacked, really solid DL, and we have a young QB we can put our hopes in if we need to.

[–] iamblue1231@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago
  1. It means Fields has put to rest most/all doubts, meaning we can put our high-end draft capital against blue-chip players at other needed positions.
[–] NUchariots@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

I quickly eliminated 3 because it includes JJ McCarthy. If your team runs 36 straight times you have no business going in the first round the following April let alone fifth overall.

I'd take Caleb Williams first overall. I prefer Dallas Turner to Latu. Neither are good value at #5.

MHJ is a can't miss and people who don't know JJ don't know he is capable of much more than he's been forced to show. If he had to sling it all game to win like Caleb and Drake, he would be considered in the top 2 or 3. He likey would also allow us to trade down and secure more draft capital because everyone sleeps on him.

I'll come back to this comment once we don't draft JJ and he becomes a top 10 QB.

[–] Big_Tomato_7763@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

MHJ and joe alt, or if we can’t sign Jaylon to an extension, MHJ and Kool-aid

[–] km222555@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago
  1. JJ and MHJ all day.
[–] Drewiki@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

To me Johnny Newton is the best defender in the class. Would add him over anyone else

[–] SonOfNike85@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

This is super unlikely because I think if we have a top 2 pick then we are taking a QB, but if both of our picks fall a little bit would it be crazy to take 2 WRs with our two 1st round picks?

Say we end up with the 3rd and the 9th pick. Let Mooney walk and take MHJ at 3 and then take another wr at 9 in a strong wr class?

Is that using too many resources on one position group?

Seems like the talent we have at wr is non existent after Moore. Every other team has 2-3 solid receivers and we have 1.

  1. my dream is Fields with MHJ and Harbaugh

unless in these last 7 games Fields makes me think otherwise. i still think Fields is the guy and wanna run it with Harbaugh. and if not we have the assets and capital to do anything we want the following year (because in this scenario I’m imagining we trade back from no.1 agajn)

[–] Alarmed-Management-4@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

If the Bears don’t find a way to draft MHJ I’m giving up. Fields needs to learn to anticipate… but he isn’t a bad QB. He was dealt a shit sandwich. If we draft Maye I am giving up. Tired of these one hit wonder QBs… yea I have PTSD from Trubisky, Grossman, McNown. Also, from the white draft pick, Carimi, Terell, Benson… those are just off the top of my head. We’ve wasted great picks on terrible players and I’m sick of it. Go for the sure things. That LT from PSU is legit and MHJ… that’s what I want. Fields has flashed that he can get it done. Put players around him and let that man cook.
