That's a scary gas tank location. It's like a Ford Pinto on meth.

Oh my god I didn’t even process what that was at first. NOOOOOOOOOO.

Only meth? I'm willing to bet some PCP was involved

Um. Doesn’t petrol eat through plastic eventually?

[–] teft@startrek.website 6 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Polystyrene? Yes. That bucket is probably HDPE or something like that though which wouldn’t react to gas. Most modern car gas tanks are some form of high density plastic.

[–] foofiepie@lemmy.world 2 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Ok thanks. So not any kind of plastic.

Yeah, I was surprised the first time I saw a plastic gas tank (it was on the ground outside an auto repair shop). I just assumed they were usually made out of metal.

A "How much for the Toyota?"

B "$2000"

A "Crap, I only have $1000."

B " ... We can work with that."

Great gas mileage if you don't mind the road noise

If that back wheel rotated freely it would be a dope drift machine. Just mash the gas whenever you get too sideways

ok but is this safer than a regular motorbike during a collision?

[–] tostiman@sh.itjust.works 1 points 2 years ago

No, because there's a plastic fuel bucket right behind the driver's seat
