Houston is definitely better as long as CJ MF Stroud continues his sorcery.

Broncos are both? 4-5 record but the team gave up 70 to the dolphins but then beats Chiefs and Bills back to back?
Vikings are better than their record but losing Kirk is rough
Vikings had a an insane amount of fumbles in there first few games, that’s stopped and they are on a 5 game win streak
The Broncos are suddenly a respectable team somehow
Better: Cowboys, 49ers, Texans, Rams, Bengals, Buccs
Worse: Panthers, Falcons, Saints, Seahawks, Jets, Colts
Worse: Dolphins and Steelers for sure. Maybe Jaguars by a little bit?
Better: Going through standings the only team that really sticks out is maybe the Texans. I think Stroud and a lot of the other rookies are finding their groove.
Bill Parcells said "You are what your record says you are."
One of my favorite quotes in general. So true for pro football and can be applied to many other (not all) aspects of life.
These are the current Pythagorean records of all N.F.L. teams.
8—2: Ravens.
7—2: 49ers, Cowboys.
7—3: Bills.
6—3: Browns, Chiefs, Dolphins, Eagles.
6—4: Vikings.
5—4: Buccaneers, Chargers, Jaguars, Lions, Texans.
5—5: Colts, Saints.
4—5: Bengals, Jets, Packers, Rams, Seahawks, Steelers, Titans.
4—6: Bears, Commanders, Falcons, Raiders.
3—6: Broncos.
3—7: Cardinals.
2—7: Panthers.
2—8: Patriots.
1—9: Giants.
Ranking records versus point differential then Pittsburgh (obviously) is the worst compared to their record and Buffalo is doing the best.
Some other notable teams doing better than their point differential (ie they're losing big but winning close) are Philly, Detroit, Seattle, Jacksonville and Cincinnati.
I'd say Philly (and to some extent Detroit) is just because they ease off the gas when they're already winning and Cincinnati is on the upswing and shouldn't be worried. But Seattle and Jacksonville could start being worried.
The Seahawks are better and worse than 6-3, mostly worse but… go hawks.
Falcons. We should be like 6-4, or even 7-3. Our HC is a hack who doesn’t know how to use his best players. Instead he runs jet sweeps to TE2 in the red zone.
I want to say we're better than our record, but I'm not sure how we're doing this with our roster. My brain is waiting for the wheels to fall off but my heart is invested in a playoff run. I told myself I wasn't going to be invested this year too.
9’ers , 9’ers
Texans are better than their record. Holy shit CJ Stroud can ball, and he's really starting to gel with his receivers.
I'm gonna throw the Chiefs in the "worse than their record" category. They didn't score a point in the second half against Miami. They just haven't looked like world beaters this year.
My Pats are 2-8. I dunno if we're better or worse than our record, I just know we suck.
Better than record- Bengals Worse than record- Seahawks
Vikings at the start with Kirk and JJ were way better than their record
Vikings without them is way worse than their record
Overall it works out lol
49ers “should” be 7-2, b/c of a missed field goal. If we really have fixed our defense issue then we are way better than our 6-3 record. If not, we are exactly where we should be.
According to the Pythagorean record, which estimates how teams 'should' have done based on their point differential, here are the results.
Luckiest teams in the N.F.L. (Teams worse than their current record):
- Pittsburgh Steelers. Should be 4—5, but are actually 6—3.
- Philadelphia Eagles. Should be 6—3, but are actually 8—1.
- Detroit Lions. Should be 5—4, but are actually 7—2.
- Seattle Seahawks. Should be 4—5, but are actually 6—3.
- Jacksonville Jaguars. Should be 5—4, but are actually 6—3.
Unluckiest teams in the N.F.L. (Teams better than their current record):
- Buffalo Bills. Should be 7—3, but are actually 5—5.
- Green Bay Packers. Should be 4—5, but are actually 3—6.
- Carolina Panthers. Should be 2—7, but are actually 1—8.
- San Francisco 49ers. Should be 7—2, but are actually 6—3.
- Los Angeles Chargers. Should be 5—4, but are actually 4—5.
Meanwhile, the teams almost spot—on with their predicted records are the Indianapolis Colts (5—5) and the Houston Texans (5—4).
It’s football season? Man I haven’t seen the Patriots on at all. Surely they’re doing great as always!
