I’m wondering if Poles would want a fresh start with his people?, he didn’t draft Fields didn’t didn’t sign Flus and this year would be a good time. I said that last year too
Chicago Bears
the team is on the way up
BEATING THE ACTUAL WORST TEAM IN THE LEAGUE BY 3 IS NOT “ON THE WAY UP.”
I FEEL LIKE I’M TAKING CRAZY PILLS!
The bigger domino is what happens with carolinas pick. Its really pretty simple, if we end up with the first or second pick, we are taking a qb. You are delusional if you think otherwise.
If we dont, then we will stockpile talent and run it back
If, and only if, during the rest of the season the coaching staff demonstrates a better understanding of how Justin Fields plays the game and they let him play it, his way. So since that's not going to happen, fire em all.
If we somehow manage 7 wins then I'll just put trust in poles because that's a 4 win improvement from last year and even with all our lows, that was precisely the realistic best-case expectation going into the year. Probably run it back with the current foundation player-wise and stack it up through draft and cap space. Coaching-wise, I'd lean toward firing everyone but if we did get 7 wins, I find it hard to believe Poles let's go of Flus. Getsy should be gone in any scenario though
If they get to 7 I wouldn't hate running it back. A huge part of me feels that the coaching staff have already proved they aren't it, but if you told me before the season that they won 7 I would expect them to be back.
Caveat to this though. If the coaching staff is back, they better not use a first round pick on a QB. Use em to make the team stronger, or trade them for more picks first. I wouldn't care if they took a qb later in the draft, but those top picks need to build the trenches and/or snag MHJ.
This sounds like the exact definition of setting your expectations too high
Please god no
I’ve seen stats suggesting that the defense has been improved as of late. I want to say we need to move in a different direction at least offensively. We at least need an OC with a more modern approach.
I would be open to moving on at QB as well. If this happens, Id want us to have a new staff entirely while hiring an offensive minded HC.
I genuinely do think a majority of the moves made by Poles have been good enough to warrant him seeing his vision out. We’re talking about the second year of a full tear down of the roster. It was supposed to be this dogshit by design (although coaching staff has helped it remain that way). And I think he at least needs to get a shot at truly hand picking his QB if his supposed feelings on JF1 are true.
Seven wins would be a disaster. Too many wins to get a top draft pick. Too few to get a definitive answer on Fields
Fluss needs to be gone then we can have a discussion about running it back
I really dont see a team that is 6-24 the last two seasons going 4-3 over the last 7 games. Especially since the Lions games are almost guaranteed loses, which means they have to go 4-1 in the other 5 games. Not happening. They’ll probably win one or two more games the rest of the year.
I guess it would depend more on the how but I would still feel uneasy sticking with Eberflus, he practically lost all trust I had in him after the first 4 weeks.

“7 wins? SEVEN!?”
Definitely my favorite reply.
There’s no way I’d run it back! None. I was willing to give Flus a chance after last year and I like home, but the way they came into the first game unprepared was absolutely embarrassing! Then having to fire one and essentially let the d coach go is inexcusable! Plus his poor communication skills, and game day coaching decisions are just more bad on top of bad. Nope, he’s gone regardless.
No, no, no! Eberflus had enough of a chance and there are some prime candidates predicted to be out there. Jim Harbaugh, Belichick, Lou Anuromo, the Lions OC. He is terrible and never should have been hired in the first place
full clean house. Eberflus isn’t qualified to be a position coach in the NFL anymore maybe in the 90s
Poles and Fields to me are the building blocks. If Getsy showed any originality through the first 10 weeks, I could see keeping him and Flus but it just hasn't come together. I'd love us to hire Flores or Bienemy as the new HC as long as they see Fields as the future. Grab a good coach from college for a mobile-deep baller QB as the OC and go from there. Fields needs someone who has fresh ideas
I would be shocked if this team won another two games this season.
Having said that I really don’t care if they bring back everyone or fire everyone.
I would treat it as a package deal. Flus, Fields, and Getsy, either they all go or they all stay.
If they all stay, as Poles I would still consider taking a QB high in the draft this year or trade my highest pick this year for draft capital next year as an insurance policy.

If success to you is "looking ok in the losses" that is a real low bar. We've sucked for so long that we've reached the point in hoping to just not be blown out and look pathetic. I want an actual good winning team. We have one of the best loyal fanbases in the league yet we're forced to watch a shitshow week after week
They're going to finish with 10 wins so I don't understand the point of this thread.
It's not my bar of success, it's a bar of progress. I don't think teams go from where this team was 2 seasons ago to division champs in a season and a half. So just saying everyone sucks without any acknowledgement of process is silly to me.
What about the Minnesota game looks winnable to you??
It's indoors against a team that we lost to by less than a TD who isn't dominant. There's a reason Dobbs kept getting traded. It's winnable.
Yeah? Winnable for the team who barely beat the Panthers by 3 points?
