Not a Fields hater or truther, but the similarities are interesting -

Fields

God STFU already with this Fields vs (INSERT QB NAME) analysis. He’s here for 7 more games. Fuck it or fight it.

Can’t wait to see the mental gymnastics on this thread on why it was good to get rid of Trubisky but Fields is the future!

Trubisky had an amazing defense on that team giving him great Field positions. It masked a lot of issues he had.

[–] CudderKid@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Omg you guys are getting pathetic

[–] The_Chovan@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

2018 defense put the offense in some really good spots. 2023 defense is starting to find itself but the takeaways are still kind of scarce. makes a difference

[–] LegendaryWarriorPoet@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Statistically, that was a very nice year for Trubisky and he made the Pro bowl as an alternate. We were so pumped heading into 2019 and it all came crashing down

[–] xtototo@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Damn those numbers are really close aren’t they

Nagy was working miracles in 2018, too bad it didn't last lol

[–] Lysol20@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

If by Nagy you mean Mack and our defense, then yes, miracles were being worked.

[–] Cant_Spell_Shit@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Nagy went 29-21 with Trubisky at QB. He was indeed working miracles. Nagy did a really good job considering the complete lack of offensive talent on our team.

You spelled Vic Fangio wrong.

[–] Lobanium@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

TDs INTs No apostrophe needed.

[–] Standard_Employee751@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Except when you leave out the fact that 2018 was leagues better than this shit. Everyone accuses me of leaving out context but how can anyone seriously compare these 2 situations lmao.

[–] -MichaelScarnFBI@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

The team, yes. That’s why I left out that Trubisky’s record was 5-1 and not 1-5. The offense around the QB, no.

[–] Standard_Employee751@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Delusional to say the offense wasn’t better too

[–] msf97@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Trubiskys final 17 starts as a Bear where it was almost unanimously agreed he needed to go where better than Fields 17 best games. Check this for yourself.

[–] Critical-Adhole@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Trubisky was born without a brain though

Him and Getsy would get along

[–] Bidoof2017@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I feel bad for whatever team gets fleeced into signing Nagy as their HC. Their team will look fun until the losses start piling up and the culture goes to hell. Club Dub only works when you win more times than not

[–] tadlonger@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I can't believe people still want to talk about Trubisky in 2023. What the fuck is with this sub? Bottom, meet rock I guess

[–] Chazz1717@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

OP will you please learn how to use an apostrophe

[–] stwp86@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

How many extra possessions did the 2018 defense give the biscuit during that 6 game run compared to F1?

[–] BurgerBob1010@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Justin Fields not being the franchise savior QB I thought he would be is probably my biggest disappointment as a Bears fan

[–] Rex-Jay-Fields__Stan@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Interesting comparison but I’d add a few caveats:

  1. Fields has played 5.5 games, not 6

  2. Fields is in year 3 - comparison would be 2019 Mitch

  3. Missing comp % & sacks (58% vs. 62% | 14 vs. 23) -

  4. Funny enough, rushing yards are similar (245 vs. 237)

  5. Washington is not the 31st ranked defense (esp. not before Sweat & Young trade) - they’re ranked 18th by PFF currently; 16th pre-trade

[–] No_Side_1915@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

The only thing considered good that Nagy sort of brought was club dub. Anything else was just bad. If you like Nagy, you should be reborn.

[–] _Shut_Up_Thats_Why_@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

By what metric is Washington the 32nd ranked D?
