AFAIK you basically just pick a list of instances to trust basically? I think of the default list Hexbear is only "censured" by dotworld cause libs

Bit idea: make a list and censure every other instance and give ourselves A+s on everything
I made a motion to censure lemmy.world but the chair gaveled it down and the parliamentarian kept repeating "sir your fired sir" when I looked to her for help.

Didn't this blow up before into a huge thread that involved the admin of that site showing up - because we're federated with their instance - and explaining that the site is automated and just scrapes the blacklists of instances that meet some criteria?
It's crowdsourced from other instance admins yes, but it isn't automated, like 5 different instances have put in a request specifically to censure us

I think there are some people building automated tools that only function if you have certain reputation, or refuse to work on instances with too many censures, but nothing worth caring about yet
