One thing I missed from Windows when I switched over was the calendar for the current month at single click away. Itsycal is a great replacement. It also uses your calendar events and shows every item in a given week. It also gives zoom or meet shortcuts if the event contains them. It has literally been the first app I install on every Mac Ive used in the past few years.

Bettertouch tool, I was able to push the limits of what I can do on my macbook pro

Someone has already linked to some of his videos, but Quinn's SnazzLabs youtube channel is great.

I like to keep my Mac as default as possible, generally, though I use BetterSnapTool (for window snapping), and iStat monitor so I can see CPU/memory in my taskbar.

Bartender 5, top notch, better snap tool.

I would personally subscribe to Set App. You get Clean My Mac X which is EASILY worth the sub alone. Plus you get to try a ton of apps for many situations that crop up. I would definitely recommend it, at least for a month to see what you may need. I use the absolute crap out of it.

Download spectacle 2! It’s an app that lets you arrange your windows/apps in your screen with keyboard shortcuts and just super nice.

So if you want your notes on the left half, and the web browser on the right half, it just takes 2 keystrokes instead of dragging and hoping you get them lined up equally

definitely daisydisk. when you get that problem of “other” being 10+ gb that you can’t seem to get rid of daisy disk will help. i promise this isn’t paid promo or anything it was just the app that actually helped me with my storage issues

Hand mirror is a great little tool that shows your camera anytime by clicking the icon in your toolbar. I love it

I personally migrated from Linux to macOS and love my little creature comforts so:

- Homebrew

- Yabai

- skhd

- Sketchybar

Make sure you have Pages, Numbers, Keynote, Garage Band, iMovie, and Safari.

Anything is just a bad knockoff.

on a serious note, it all depends on what you do with your machine. personally i like to swing for the open source projects that support what the native apple apps don’t: VLC vs. Quicktime, FireFox vs. Safari

Parallels lol
