Does screen recording a WhatsApp call not record the audio? (alien.top)

I had a very important legal conversation over WhatsApp that I had the okay to record… so I screen recorded it. Now I play it back and there’s no sound. Did I fuck up? Can I in some way retrieve the sound? Thanks for the help.
