Caleb Williams on a rookie contract is better value than Fields going forward over the next four years and allows the team to improve talent better.
Not only that, but Williams is simply a better prospect.

Caleb plays in the worst Power 5 conference and loses. He has the right coach, the right school, all of the things that accompany that, and he is still losing. We can reset the clock with Caleb, but ultimately we will end with the same result. Believe your eyes.
Not really related but the 21 draft is looking like a big bust for QB’s. Even Trevor Lawrence is looking like dog shit this year.
Covid really took away a ton of games of development from that class. It sucks to see. The class after them isn’t looking too good either.
