I hope Justin balls out for the next seven games, but if he doesn't.

I like Maye but you know who I like even more than Williams and Maye? Marvin Harrison Jr and think it would be a massive mistake if we don’t take him.

[–] DavidNjoku@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

He was placing the deep ball perfectly all night!

[–] frydawg@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

My mitch ptsd is way too strong, too many similarities

[–] doggoploggo@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

This was the first game I watched of his and I really liked what I saw. He had that bad Int when he was backed up in his endzone, but outside of that he looked great.

This play in particular, me likey.

[–] FortuneBull@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Caleb playing like ass right now

[–] MiddleNameIsJoe@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

I'd take him. Love the prototypical size and arm. He's never been tested with pro-style reads and complexities, which is true of any college QB, but I'd happily take him at no. 2 overall.

[–] halfcastdota@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

anyone who’s actually watched maye play know he looks way more like fields did in college than caleb does. he stares down his first read HARD

[–] M1Garand00294@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

He’s prob a redshirt but a sophomore entering the draft is a red flag. He will need a strong supporting cast and organization as well as as a fan base that is patient while he goes through growing pains… this does not sound like the Bears and their fan base at all…

[–] fitzuha@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Nothing wrong with liking a new QB. It’ll probably happen, but our best case scenario is Fields balling.

[–] Apotheosis69420@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I don’t know how people can be so comfortable with scouting one read quarterbacks. That doesn’t work at the next level and doesn’t show if a quarterback can read a whole field or a defense.

[–] SensibleBrownPants@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Then I guess you aren’t watching him play against Duke right now.

[–] Rock_man_bears_fan@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

We already did the UNC QB thing. I’d prefer not to get back on the basketball school QB rollercoaster

[–] RollofDuctTape@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Welcome to Team Maye.

[–] WolfTicket360@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Sam Howell?

[–] alexamerling100@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

So do I but I also really like Jayden Daniels from LSU. You see what he did tonight?

[–] Jake-Old-Trail-88@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

I like Michael Penix Jr. I think we could pull off taking MHJ, then him.

[–] G_Unit_Solider@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

you guys want the real answer. we should have grabbed stroud this year and moved on entirely from JF while his stock was still mysterious and sellable. Stroud is going to be a overall great QB in his career hes 100% nfl ready doesnt need 2-3 years progression dudes going to have a overall solid career and would have loved to see him be a bear. thats all hindsight now though. i dont care much for this qb class i think its more hype than anything i dont think maye or williams are going to be anything special in the nfl and im not saying that because i want fields to stay either im more than ok for a refresh at this point he hasnt shown me consistancy one season yet. but i dont think this draft class has any answers.

[–] indecentbob@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (2 children)

With that type of hindsight we should’ve just drafted Mahomes over Trubisky

[–] PrimeSorcerer@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Seriously I didn’t hear a single person ever suggest we should take Stroud at 1 pre-draft

[–] ExcitingCondition484@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Even in hindsight, this is still a terrible take. Stroud is obviously looking like he’s a top tier QB for years to come, but taking him means we don’t get DJ Moore, we don’t get Darnell Wright, and we don’t get the Panthers 2024 first which will likely give us the rights to Williams, Maye, or both.

[–] No_Side_1915@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Maye is overrated. Similar stuff were said about trunk sky, great arm, height etc. I think there are better qb prospects than maye

[–] 92roll13@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (2 children)

Drake Maye is an absolute beast. Don’t let Mitch PTSD distort what you’re seeing from him.

[–] daBabadook05@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

It’s hard not to to be honest haha

[–] Twittenhouse@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Does he even drive a Civic?

[–] DFuhbree@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago
[–] mywifemademedothis2@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I fell in love watching his highlights. Kid has it all. Size, frame, big arm, quick release, accuracy, mobility. Reminds me of a bigger bodied Aaron Rodgers.

[–] Slowest_Speed6@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Mitch 2: Electric Boogaloo

[–] Dilligaf_1963@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

NC QB drafted by Ryan and Matt......what could possibly go wrong?

[–] DFuhbree@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Nagy wasn’t here when Mitch was drafted.

[–] lnnrt01@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I thought for a good second you meant MJ Morris from NC State

[–] Nitin-2020@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

The Kid from NC has a name: Mitch Trubisky

[–] Glittering-Snow-8120@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I watch Drake carry his team to a win making play after play, only to flip over to USC and see Caleb Williams spin around run backwards and get stripped. I get that’s not fair, it’s just timing, I’m not breaking down film, it’s just a tough look and trend from Williams.

[–] theresabeeonyourhat@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I'd be happy with him, but apoplectic over Caleb, who is another Trubisky/Fields in the making

[–] jmrogers31@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

The next QB prospect the Bears can ruin.

[–] AntiPantsCampaign@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Bo Nix has some ridiculous stats this year, and outplayed Caleb yesterday.

What are the thoughts on him?

[–] FishermanBig4566@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Trey Lance trade from 12 to 2 netted 3 1sts and a 3rd.

Caleb Williams is considered a generational talent. More than B Young. 3 1st's, 1 2nd, and a player is what Poles will want for either the 1 or 2.

Rumor is he wants one of the LT. And then he wants a WR, DE, and a 3T. Plus a safety.

With the player in trade he can get a CENTER or WR.

[–] ChaplnGrillSgt@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I like Maye more than Williams. I think Caleb has a higher ceiling due to his scrambling and play making ability but I can't help but see some Johnny Football in his game. He could be Mahomes lite or her could be Johnny football.

Maye is still athletic and can run, but is a better pure passer that I think translates quicker and easier to the NFL. He can still run and he's big so far from a statue.

If we can get Maye and MHJ then that's infinitely better than Caleb and literally anyone else.

[–] reececanthear@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

He looks like he could be related to Sam Darnold.. I’ll pass

[–] jsnhbe1@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Not unless he kisses titties

[–] PanicBuybeforeDump@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Gm named Ryan

HC named Matt
