I know it was always edgy to hate on COD, but they actually had some very good games not super long ago, e.g. I think even the MW reboot campaign was fun. Then with the Warzone integration it became bloatware, and at one point it just crashed on start on my PS5 all the time, so I managed to get a refund after some argument with Sony.

That will be the last time I touched a COD game. I assume they now only care about milking players with MTX through Warzone, so I wish them the best, but I’ll be spending my money on games that try to be good - plenty of choices this year (e.g. Spiderman, Alan Wake, Resident Evil - and the list goes on).

I have also walked away from the franchise. I played the MW3 beta and it was an identical game to the one prior.

They didn't fix any of the things that ruined it.

The trouble is, there's really nothing else comparable that has a playerbase.

My friends and I tried BF2042 for a while. It's ok but still a pretty weak BF title IMO and even when you're winning, not all that rewarding.

There's plenty of milsim titles with players, plenty of battle Royale titles with players, and CSGO still massive.

What is missing is arcade style shooters like COD that are not COD, or movement based shooters. Whilst there's plenty on offer, nobody is playing them.

I know there's some cool stuff in the pipeline. 'The Finals' play test was really cool but kept getting booted for "cheating". A few others coming but right now there's just nothing.

I mean its perfectly possible to milk gamers and at the same time create a fun game(not that i support this). I already felt milked back with black ops II but i had a ton of fun with it so there was no regret in spending money. I feel like they have just gotten lazy as fuck and think they can get away with anything.
