I've have tried to go back to a few Garmin watches over the last year, basically the 965 and the Venu 3. Neither stuck. I have a AW Ultra 2 at the moment after a recent upgrade. It came down to this:
- Workouts are an hour or two of my day and the AW more than covers the metrics I want. When I really want to get into it during a run or hike with a map I will use Workoutdoors.
- The other 14+ hours of the day I am walking around, responding to messages, getting calls, or just sitting around. The AW does that more than well enough.
- I don't care about charging a watch that lasts me a full day with workouts each night (in my case every 2-3 days.) I don't like wearing my watch to sleep.
Neither Garmin was a disappointment, it's jsut that neither did enough extra to compel me to change back to Garmin. I used to a long time Garmin user, but AW has become my regular the last 2-3 years.
