I'm trying to follow myself in Lemmy from my Akkoma instance. I can search for @pimeys@lemmy.nauk.io from my Akkoma instance, and find myself just fine. Clicking follow sends a follow request, but it just pending forever and I see no notifications or anything on my Lemmy instance. Do I need to do something from Lemmy to allow following from other instances? Should this even work?

The "pending" issue also happens on Lemmy itself sometimes, just cancel it and try again.

I am successfully subscribed to a Lemmy community via Akkoma, and the community boosts topics posted in it, but somehow comments do not get federated to Akkoma. Probably some minor incompatibility as with Mastodon I was told it works.

@pimeys
You cannot follow Lemmy users, only communities. AFAIU, Lemmy just does not do anything with that request.

To share my experience : my Friendica account is set up to automatically boost anything @Liwott produces, and it does so as soon as this instance is aware of the Lemmy posting, but that does not always happen automatically. Sometimes I have to search my Lemmy post on Friendica, and only then it is boosted. Note that I do follow my Lemmy account from here

Oh, that's good to know. And still a useful feature if I can follow a community.
