Amazingly, my launch day apple watch was still serving me well all these years.. however there was some weirdness on notifications so I (stupidly) decided to reset it to 'freshen' it up.

However now when I pair it, it fails with an error of "Your apple watch couldnt pair with your iphone":I am running latest IOS on my iphone, and i tried and got same error pairing with a different phone.

I let the battery run all the way down to see if that would help, but nothing i do makes any difference. is there something else to try, or did i kill my beloved old watch??

The watch is supported on iOS 17.2

iOS is backwards compatible with WatchOS

The main thing to try is on your wifi, turn off 5Ghz network and make sure only 2.4Ghz is enabled

Reset the watch and try again

If it works, you can reenable the 5Ghz
