I am looking for some inspirations for an upcoming campaign I am currently planning, and I would like to eventually include some sort of train heist. Is there any official (or unofficial) stuff out there that could work as an inspiration?

@INeedMana@sh.itjust.works's starting point for building your own is pretty damn good.

To add, HTR should definitely not be there at the start unless this is some real serious business they're transporting. The kind of thing that might tank the company if stolen.

You should definitely figure out beforehand where the HTR is physically stationed and how long it'll take them to arrive by rotorcraft. A big part of the team's mission should be preventing/delaying the call to HTR and an escape plan if they are called.

Make it very clear they don't want to fuck with an HTR team. If they mess up enough that they end up tangling with them, remember: responses like that normally come with a Nissan Hound or similar for CAS, and they do not come lightly armed. Multiple HMGs with APDS are pretty standard.

Yeah, I'd do the same, make it clear that if they see the HTR they fragged up. Have the them be Professional Rating 5 or 6, probably with a mage. And don't hesitate to shoot to kill, they probably have some Edge to burn and it'll be a lesson they'll remember.

I don't recall a mission about a train heist. It doesn't mean there's none, though, I haven't read them all.

One big thing, I think, will be HTR. Their time to arrival should be quite long and it would not be cost effective to have them on every train. So maybe the regular security should be buffed a little?

  • Separate matrix host
  • Drones
  • Higher end equipment
  • Some mag-boots for running on the roof maybe?
  • Rigger capable of closing whole wagons down

Of course, don't over do it. Your characters still have to be able to do it. It can't be impermeable
