This is such an easy and obvious choice. This sub can't admit that MHJ is far better than Caleb Williams.
MHJ is probably the best prospect in the last 5 years
Trade #1 overall in a DJ like deal - getting that team’s best young EDGE or OT/G along with swapping 1st 2024, Pick up 2024 2nd along with 2025 1st and 4th.
In that one trade you either fix the DLine or lack of depth on OL. In the least you push Jones to be better and relegate Whitehair to cut city. Use the newly acquired 1st to draft what you didn’t get above - best Edge or OL.
With your own pick, you draft MHJ at 5.
Newly acquired 2nd - you take the best MF Center in the draft. Period. Fix this position for the next 5-8 years finally.
Draft in the following order by best available- ILB, NT, DT, EDGE, G, OT
My philosophy is roll with these QBs and build the team for the long term. If after filling out the OL and skills with bonafide Pro Bowlers that you still have a problem at QB…pull a trade and get a proven Vet. See Stafford, Brees, Manning, Brady, etc Trades/FA that won Superbowls. They were the LAST piece not the ONLY piece on a team.
No way MHJ is there at 5
I have this pipe dream that Jer'Zahn Newton tests really well and the Bears draft him. 5 seems like a good place for the best DT in college football to go.
Exactly. That’s the issue I have with cardinals being at 2. I do believe once Kyler Gets back he will get them 2-3 more wins and puts them out of that #2 spot. But if. Cardinals are there before the bears. They will take MHJ.
Missing the forest a little here. The trade of 1st overall may net 1.2,3,4 etc. use it on MHJ not another flipping QB project
I like this. It feels everyone who hates Fields is on this quest for an elite QB. I don’t think Fields is an elite QB but he’s top 15 QB. And you can go and win a Super Bowl with a top 15 qb. The 49ers have been knocking at the door of a Super Bowl run for the last few years and Fields is better than any of their QB’s. Fuck Caleb Williams. Keep building the team through the draft and then let’s see what we have. Oh, and get new coaching too.
Bagent is legit and is only going to get better and stronger. It gives us the opportunity to let Fields play his final year out.
I would grab MHJ and a Edge Rusher. If we trade down to grab a 2nd round pick we are definitely grabbing a Center in the 2nd
