Do you mean their pre-Fat demos or the Recess EPs? Because everything they've made with Fat and Epitaph has had really tight production. Too clean even.
I was thinking of less talk more rock but then again I first listened to it as a terrible quality mp3
I was going to say How To Clean Everything and that album had bad production, but quickly listening to them again, they sound much better than I remembered.

I remember liking them as a lib but thinking they were too preachy about leftism and veganism. Then I realized that leftists and vegans were right and Propagandhi kicks ass.
