I suppose shoes are laced so as to better fit & secure them to one's feet, so why isn't similar done with gloves?

The only gloves that come to mind with lacing are maybe catcher's mitts and boxing gloves, but even those I'm not entirely certain of.

Edit:
Possibly a nvm edit, as it just struck me that you...Couldn't really tie...Glove laces...? I think? I guess it may depend...

ah, a fellow stoner i see. what flavor are you puffin on?

[–] ALostInquirer@lemm.ee 8 points 2 years ago (1 children)

My flavor is hunger, I uh...Haven't had enough to eat today, it seems.

[–] Kolanaki@yiffit.net 6 points 2 years ago

Low blood sugar can cause impairment similar to being drunk. Go eat!

I use two hands to tie my shoes. Seems like tying a glove would be tricky with one hand...

Also I see gloves as being closer to socks

There ARE gloves that can be secured, such as the big ones for ski/snowboarding

Guarantee you'll have a lot more lady friends if you can figure it out though

Gloves don’t require as snug of a fit and are less likely to be pulled off like shoes so don’t really require lacing. Gloves stay on the hand better mostly because of the dynamic action of fingers which differ than that of toes. οΏΌ

No, you're asking entirely the wrong question. this is all wrong!

Why don't more shoes come with individual toe-boxes like gloves?

[–] CADmonkey@lemmy.world 3 points 2 years ago (1 children)

I have a pair of shoes with individual toes. They're comfortable and it's very easy to keep my footing in them. It feels like being barefoot except stuff doesn't hurt my feet.

I have them too (Vibram Fivefingers). I think that should be the standard for all shoes, except steel-toed boots.

[–] CADmonkey@lemmy.world 3 points 2 years ago

I agree, but I'd love some Vibrams with individual toe caps.

depending on the glove material, velcro could work, if for some reason you needed to tighten your gloves

[–] ALostInquirer@lemm.ee 2 points 2 years ago

For sure, I've gloves with velcro along the wrist for this, but in my mix of hunger and angling for an odd question lacing gloves sprung to mind. πŸ˜…

Gloves that need a snug fit usually have zips or velcro because those can be done one-handed.

Some day mouth teeth are middle hand. Not left. Not right. Middle wet hand.

Keeping this post up was worth it for this reply alone tbh πŸ˜‚

What about the non-mouth teeth?

[–] half_built_pyramids@lemmy.world 2 points 2 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago) (1 children)

Fabled vagina dental. Myth. Lower middle teeth, quest. Fantasy. Shhh.
