I have an iPhone 12 mini, with over a hundred gigs of music on it. I keep all of that music on an external hard drive.

That hard drive was dropped and is not working. I’ve sent it out for repair in the hope that they can recover it, since it contains all of the music I have ever owned, including bootlegs of concerts I’ve attended, records I worked on, long defunct indie bands, etc.

It also has music that is not available anywhere else, like recordings of all my bands or music I had done with friends. One of those friends recently passed away, and I am trying to retrieve those songs from my phone to send to her husband, as well as to back up someplace other than my phone.

Is there a way to retrieve music from my phone?

Again, all of this is only on a hard drive which has been damaged and my phone, which has not, and nowhere else. I have checked, and I am still able to listen to most of the music I’m interested in retrieving, though I am most interested in the music from the recently deceased friend.

I wasn’t using Apple Music’s subscription service, just iTunes, because I had heard horror stories about friends losing music they had recorded.
