Tank bowl, but whoever wins, the bears also win.
NFL
A place for NFL news, game highlights and everything that excites you about American Football.
My favorite is always when the announcers turn on the teams. Not just run-of-the-mill joking and talking about other things - but outright saying that these are not good teams playing bad football.
I had to check and it turns out it was more of a spiritually TNF game (it was actually MNF), but I'm going to go with Jets/Titans 2012 regardless. Mike Tirico's call of the Jets' final play will be forever etched into my brain. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ku7mvasCeNM @ 26:58. Even though it was not on a Thursday, it is the most TNF game I can remember.
I think my favorite TNF game was Giants-Eagles in 2020. It was Daniel Jones vs. Carson Wentz. I knew it was going to be comical and the game did not disappoint. The best of the night was the Daniel Jones 80 yd run where he tripped.
The best thing about tonight is how many times Michaels just unloads about what a crap matchup this is.
TNF is great for this, I'd much rather watch two awful teams play sloppy, penalty filled football than watch a good team like the Eagles kick the shit out of someone like the Panthers. It's way more entertaining watching two awful teams struggle to find out who is worse.
Best part about tonight is - someones gotta win and either way I'm happy.
- Bears fan.
Minor league hockey is fun as hell
I think this game would be greatly improved if Al Michaels enters into a crossover promo with a gambling site, and shares all of his bets on the game in real time and openly reacts to his props getting hit or missed.
We all know Herbstreit worships at the alter of football too much to gamble on it, so the combination of an actually engaged Al Michaels and a squirming Herbstreit would go a long ways to making this football game not suck.
There was a color rush tnf game that I can't remember who was playing (I wanna say Texans or bucs vs jets) and the uniforms were bright red and bright green and I couldn't help but think the whole time. "There are a ton of colorblind people that have no idea what the fuck is going on this game)
Games was awful too of course
if there was a sicko flair, i would wear it with pride
Might be more exciting than the Chargers Jets game on Monday.
That's superbowl champion Chad Henne, friend!
And it'll still garner more eyeballs than the best college football game so far this season. The NFL is a ratings juggernaut no matter what teams are out there.
I gotta tell you
I have like no motivation to walk this game. If you aren't a Panthers or a bears fans...why?
I got a hunch Bears will win
My favorite Thursday game was the 49ers / Rams in 2017. Rams had 1 win and 49ers had 0 wins.
Final score was 41-39, Rams win. But the 49ers had a successful onside kick, and were driving for a FG at the end. But a great 3rd down conversion pass got called back for a very iffy OPI basically icing the game. Even with the loss we could blame the refs and were hoping for better things. A very exciting game in any case. I was at the stadium and it was lit.
This game has major implications, it determines where Caleb is going
If you're not hyped for it, you don't like NFL football
I for one love the fact that TNF was willing to take a bullet for MNF. Ever since Thursday night games started, Monday Night Football has featured notably better games.
2018 week 3. The 1-1 Jets vs the 0-1-1 Browns in a mediocre game that featured Isaiah Crowell celebrating a touchdown against his former team by pretending to use the ball to wipe his ass. Also Baker’s regular season debut, leading the browns to their first win in 20 games
The last three TNF games were good games that went down to the wire but people still perpetuate this shit.
Putting two terrible teams together makes one hell of a game!
Does anyone else remember the TNF game back around like 2014/2015/2016 between the Jags and I think the Titans? IIRC it was a color rush game and I swear right before the game started they played this thing basically talking about how while both these teams are bad now, they could be good in the future. It was the weirdest thing ever and I was so confused why they would make something like that lol but I don't think I've ever been able to find it since.
the most entertaining part is trying to figure out who Al Michaels bet on. he's the best
Nothing could be worse than Colts - Broncos last year
As long as its not a blow out I'll still be entertained
2015 Bills v Jets color rush game. Bills wore bright red. Jets wore bright green. Everyone who was red-green colorblind was unable to watch the game because they couldn't tell the teams apart. Also, the game was one sided despite what the final score suggests. What an incredible disaster.
Lol exactly Thursdays are supposed to be terrible, same with almost every other prime time game but even when they have a chance to fix their mistakes they still choose to put up the jets vs the raiders.
Idk if this is the first one of the year, but prepare yourselves, FOR A TANK BOWL!!!!! https://youtu.be/3eCUaLJ1TNw?si=Mhx__lVPqDEJwqvg
I don’t enjoy watching bad football.
What a sports evening for me. TNF has a combined record of 3-14, and then my Sharks are playing the Oilers, who have a combined 3-18-2 record.
I’m just glad I get to watch the Panthers disappoint me tonight. That means I can watch football all day Sunday and just be happy.
I can't wait to suffer with the rest of you.
