This guy. My Ultra 2 didn’t have a drain issue to begin with, but 10.1.1 has caused it to tank.

[–] I_Love_McRibs@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

That’s so strange. I haven’t had any issues with battery since release date and 10.1.1 seems even better.

Nice gradual slope

Me! AWU2, charged to 100% last night before bed. At 70% now and it’s only 11am. My iPhone 15 PM battery also sucks and rarely makes it to EOD.

I can’t figure out why this is so bad. I’m almost tempted to wipe my phone and start over versus what I did before (transferred from 14 PM to 15 PM).

It’s been frustrating between the bugs and the battery.

Everyone. The watch was a great product. Now it is a useless toy. For the love of all that is decent, if Apple doesn’t pull Craig Federighi out of the OS driver seat, OS development under his purview will continue to frustrate and disenfranchise users. These choices are literally eroding Apple’s brand equity. I was getting read to upgrade to a new phone. It’s no longer a forgone conclusion that it will be an Apple product. It doesn’t matter how great the hardware is engineered if the UI/UX keeps getting progressively worse. The watch is basically unusable in its current state. Left unaddressed, the same fate will matriculate into their other products.

It was abysmal for like 2-3 days after updating but then stabilized

[–] tally2425@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

my battery is getting absolutely destroyed and i have no idea why

Sorry, I didn’t know people were not allowed to go against the post

[–] darkknight32@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

It’s not everyday for me, but my ultra will out of nowhere be dead. And I charge pretty much every time I shower at night. That’s way more enough to get me through sleep tracking and tracking a long run the next day.

[–] etherlore@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I find rebooting helps

[–] spazzcat@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I wasn't getting bad battery life before and now getting even better. What is the health of your battery?

[–] Successful-7268@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I now carry charger for my Apple Watch & the phone, thanks to iOS 10.1

Still glad my AW7 is on 9.whatever. The only consistent thing here is the continued inconsistency of updating to 10.x.x. I’ve got solid battery life and will not be updating anytime soon. Apple obviously knows there is a problem if they’re replacing watches. Not using 3rd party apps is not a solution or option. Has that even made a difference?

[–] Entertainmentguru@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Is there a wallpaper that sometimes causes a battery to drain more than others?

[–] Morgensonne77@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Nope. Not with 10.1. and not now with 10.1.1.

[–] MIERDAPORQUE@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

i can’t even get mine to update. it just stays on verifying. 🤷🏾‍♂️

[–] De1icat3@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I KNEW it would be trash! Never updating to X.X.1/2 updates.

[–] Eshmam14@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I literally just downloaded the update for watchOS 10. I haven’t installed it yet.

[–] abz786@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Going at a rate of 25% per day on AWU1 so to me this is back to normal. 2-3 days given fitness and sleep tracking takes a good chunk of battery

[–] SgtDirge@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

So yesterday, directly after the update is was bad! Like 10% per hour drain.

Today, after a restart and a full charge this morning I only lost 55% in 11 hours so it‘s much better than even on WatchOS 9 for me

[–] PabloSRT8@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Was your watch ok with 10.0? Was your battery draining very quickly with 10.1? Is 10.1.1 better or worst than 10.1? Thanks.

[–] sm00thArsenal@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

My watch was averaging roughly 24 hours on every previous 10 release, not great compared to 9, but a hell of a lot better than this on 10.1.1

[–] ParticularUnusual538@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

My S5 is now dropping 7% per hour, and I’m not even using it, just wearing it.

Mine's at least as bad as 10.1, if not worse.

[–] ronniearnold@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Mine was way better with 10.1. It’s like a clown is driving the bus over there…

Ultra 1…updated software and so far definitely mix results…watch would last 2.5 days now it seems to last only 1.5 days…before the update to iOSwatch 10…battery would last 3 days max…oh well 🤦🏽‍♂️

[–] Neuromancer2112@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

My battery feels like it's draining at about the level it was BEFORE I updated to WatchOS 10.

Currently 83%. If I'm at around 73-75% in the next 2.5-3 hours, it will definitely be better than it was.

If I'm in the high 60s, it'll be better than 10.0.

[–] Zaytion_@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

My AWU1 seems great. But I don't use a lot of third party apps may be? Their must be some common ones that are just crushing the battery.

[–] South-Joke3013@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Make sure you’re updated to the latest iOS version as well as watchOS 10.1.1. You should be fine after

[–] jreacher7@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I’ve had mine go to zero in the afternoon twice.

[–] hamadillo@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I think me. A little early to be sure though

[–] Thats-nice-smile@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Imao yea not upgrading until 11.0

[–] CommercialType8339@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I also have worse battery performance after this update

[–] leonffs@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Both worse battery life and my 3 in 1 charger now doesn’t work at all to charge my watch

[–] imikec@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Better than before both updates 👍

[–] RomadCV@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Mine is doing worse even after the most recent update that is supposed to fix the battery drain issue. Before the update it used to last an entire day, now it doesn’t anymore. A very drastic change. Is it possible to downgrade to WatchOS 9? WatchOS 10 is a nightmare and is making my watch be unusable. I feel I’m being ripped off.
