iPhone 15 Pro + iOS 17.1.1 Bug: Text notification not showing up (alien.top)

Recently I have noticed that text messages I receive are not showing up as notifications when my phone is locked or unlocked. All other apps are properly showing notifications. The message app shows the number of texts in the red bubble as you would expect.

Solutions I have tried:

  1. Notifications settings - made sure messages app has notifications turned on and all three notification types are turned on as well

  2. Turned iPhone on and off

  3. Hard reset of iPhone. (Up volume/ down volume / power button till reset)

  4. Reset all settings

  5. Delete message app from Home Screen and re-add

The last option I have is to factory reset my iPhone and set it up as a new iPhone. Before I do that I was hoping someone had a thought or fixed the issue before.

it is not just for Messages for me. WhatsApp also does the same! does everyone here own an Apple Watch? i’m thinking about it might be it.

I have the same issue on my iPhone 11. It is driving me crazy I'm answering work texts so000 late that it's started to affect my work. I think we will have to wait for a bug update.

Ok this also might help. Just turn off all the Focus profile. There are some Focus profiles that can silence all the notifications on your phone. This was my main problem.

Same issue and a factory reset didn't fix the issue for me. I am 14 pro max but ios 17.1.1 too

I work for a major wireless carrier in the USA. Just encountered this issue for the first time on a 15PM. The original restoration was done side by side. We factory reset and did the original iCloud restoration (specifically through cloud and not side by side) process and it fixed the issue. Hope this helps!

+1 same issue here, but mine seems specific to custom alert tones. If i just use factory/app default tone I will get audio alerts

17.1.2 resolved my issue! Hopefully that works for everyone else.
