Today I got my first bot follower on Mastodon. Is there a way to remove it? I only see block available, but I’m not 100% sure what that does and I’d prefer not to have a porn account follow me. Any help?

Use the block option, the account is then removed from your follower list, at least that's what I have done, & that seems to be the outcome. Can also report the account, which should get it removed, if enough complaints have been received..

Thanks! Blocking removed them, I just had to wait a little while for the bot to actually be removed from the follower list. Thanks again!

I've had bot accounts follow me in the past and blocking removed them from my follows.

Blocking is the way. Not only will the bot not appear on your followers list, it won't be able to get any post that you put out. I would recommend locking down the ability of people to follow you, because unlike Twitter, the fediverse isn't a popularity contest and it really doesn't matter if you have a ton of followers or only a few. Go to Preferences->Appearance and click the check box marked "Require follow requests."
