Adding comment on the Apple Watch calling my spouse and sending location info when I fell off my bike a few years ago. I was fine but didn’t notice this countdown. It then proceeded with an audible alarm countdown before calling emergency services. I heard this and stopped it in time. I only got an S4 as a trial/test, but from this point on I decided I’ll always wear an Apple Watch.

I crashed into a car when I was out cycling right after I got my new watch, and it immediately detected and did a countdown to calling the ambulance. Thankfully I was with my partner so I stopped the countdown since it was mostly just a big bruise on my leg, but if I were by myself and something bad happened, it would be a lifesaver. As for the shower bit, I quite often just keep it on for short showers; just make sure to use the water lock, or if you’re using a lot of product might be better to remove it. Also don’t use bands with tiny holes or crevices where water may get stuck!

Works great! Ate some dirt at the bike park and it started the countdown, by far my favorite feature. It is my first Apple Watch and I love it!

I shower with it, no problems. I got cellular so it can call 911 if I’m not with my phone (you don’t need cell service for this!). I’m careful not to let water and soap jet into the speaker.

Water lock does not protect against the water, it just locks the screen so water droplets don’t act like a touch. I do like to turn it on just to vibrate any water out but I do that after.

Crash detection works and it'll alert that you've been in a serious car crash. It'll start a countdown and you could stop it if you are fine. Otherwise it calls 911 and then it will alert your emergency contact.

I don't shower with mine on!

As for fall detection, if you're under the age of 60 (I think?) you might have to turn it on? Not entirely sure. Not sure if like you're riding your bike, skateboarding, something like that and does it consider that a crash or a fall?

I have had the heart rate alert go off recently where it knew "This isn't my normal heart rate." I didn't know if it kept escalating and starts looking like a heart attack that also alerts 911. That's good to know too!

My girlfriend has had two falls with her Series 6. Once she tripped and fell on a walk and once she tipped over on her bike. Her watch immediately asked if she wanted it to summon help. She declined.
