I am a student and want to bring my MacBook Air to school. My bag is quite heavy and might be tossed around by random people. I am worried that my heavy books would apply pressure on my MacBook, breaking the screen. Is it likely that that would happen? If so, what should I do? I forgot to buy Apple care before the 30-day limit and now I am kinda panicking.

Your concern is warranted with a cheap backpack with the laptop amongst the actual text books. Why not spend just a little more on one with a dedicated pocket for a laptop and match that with a hard case?
