This is on the Patriots, not on Mac.

[–] SuperSocrates@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Gee wonder whose at fault for Mac Jones

[–] dagreenman18@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Oh I’m sorry. Did you get addicted to GOAT? Did someone get addicted for GOATs?

[–] azure275@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Boston and the entitlement here reeks lol

We all know Zach Wilson is a bust and the Jets if anything have way more legit to be mad about but no one acts like he's personally insulting them

[–] Uniblab_78@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Losing to the commanders means you have serious problems

[–] foxboroliving@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Hey, it's also infuriated those of us outside the Patriots org!

#I’M NOT TOM BRADY

[–] AdSpecialist6598@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Brady had a great o-line, great tight end play, wideouts that either punched way above their weight class and had that dwag in them like Wes Welker or elite free agents like Randy Moss; and a great running game. Mac has never had any of those.

Mac Jones is the kinda guy to eat a chocolate bar with a fork and knife.

[–] LzTangeL@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I can't think of another name on the Patriots offense off the top of my head so in that regard the Patriots failed Mac Jones.

[–] MM487@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Maybe Jones would be doing better if his receivers weren't guys fantasy owners pick up Sunday morning on waivers to fill in for a bye week.

Why don't the Patriots sign Sammy Watkins while they're at it?

[–] despereanx@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

The same could be said about Bill’s decision making when it comes to drafting, personnel, and free agent signings.

How dare he throw perfect passes that get dropped over and over again.

This reeks of Belichick trying to pass blame for being 2-7 onto anyone other than himself. Has Mac made some questionable decisions? No doubt. I've also seen him make good decisions and put dimes on his receivers hands, only for those balls to be dropped. 2021 showed that with a decent scheme and serviceable supporting cast Mac can be a decent-to-pretty good quarterback. Absent that context these kind of evaluations are meaningless.

Patriots Org: “Hey Mac… what do you want for dinner?”

Mac: “idk, you pick”

Patriots Org: “Okaayyyy… How about Chipotle?”

Mac: “Nah, I don’t want that”

Patriots Org: audible sigh

[–] WillieStonka@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Mac Jones wipes back to front.

[–] bawdygamer@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

certainly can't be any worse than the decision to hire Matt Patricia as OC.

[–] Voidfang_Investments@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Get it together, Macard.

[–] CrustyToeLover@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Now watch some dump team pick up Mac and do well next season

[–] orange_sox@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

“They’ve been sold this smart, efficient, game-managing quarterback and they’re not getting it.”

He is from Florida and went to Alabama, how smart can he really be?

[–] lat3ralus65@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

It has also infuriated people outside of the Patriots organization

[–] Cambro88@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Remember all the handwriting of Mac vs Trey Lance? And then after last year everyone was sold on Fields and made jokes how everyone missed out on him?

Lol

[–] MacMac105@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I don't know whether to defend a fellow Mac or start a petition to force him to change it to Mack.

[–] baggio1000000@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Mac Jones is the cornerstone for that organization. I hope he stays for years and years, and signs a huge contract.

[–] ProtoMan79@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

He’ll go into the season as QB2 with the Niners next year.

[–] rabouilethefirst@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

They obviously don't care because they keep starting him even though he's been ass since 2022

I'm not gonna pretend that I think or ever thought Mac Jones was/is some world beater QB(I think his ceiling was Kirk Cousins/Matt Ryan), but his failures are just as much on Belichick's failure to develop him and keep the offense's talent at an acceptable level as it is on Mac.

Mac is only in year 3, and is also on his 3rd OC(one of which was a friggin' defensive coordinator masquerading as an OC), his 3rd straight year of having one of the worst receiver groups in the NFL, and his O-Line has only gotten worse every year of his career.

Surprise surprise that a young pocket passer is gonna struggle under those circumstances.

[–] BinaxII@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

"....something's not right..." No Shit

[–] 1021986@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Report: Mac Jones’s decision making has ‘infuriated’ people outside Patriots organization as well

[–] startupschmartup@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

“They see him passing up open receivers."

Yes, sure they do. There's barely been a patriots receiver open all year. There's a reason why Brady left when he did. The team thinks it can just draft/sign defense and win. The league has changed.
