I was looking to get a starlight 256gb SE from the Apple Store today and upon looking all of the stores in the greater Boston/New England area are out of stock. They’ve had them in stock the last 3 weeks I’ve been checking and suddenly almost all stores are out. Does this indicate the new one might be launching soon? “In time for the holiday season”

Not out of stock here in Australia. Would love a new SE model if they keep the LCD screen. An xr/11 with that new 48mp camera would be awesome.

IIRC it was posted here that over the years the highest storage is discontinued a couple years into production. thats what i think happened here.

Could you order an unlocked one from amazon? I ordered renewed and it was in perfect condition if you’re looking for a better budget.

I did that and it’ll be here tomorrow but last week all 15ish Apple stores had them in stock and this morning all colors in 256gb were only available at like 2 stores.

No, the next se probably won’t launch until 2025.

You are looking for the high capacity model which always tend to be limited in stock and often sold out more quickly. Usually, the base model (64GB) is usually more widely available. Or it could be that Apple just ran out of stock and more should come in. I don't think they will be making another iPhone SE for awhile. The 3rd generation came out in 2022 and usually it's 3-4 years before a new SE model comes out, so probably 2025 is when the next one comes.
