I’ll take click bait never gonna happen articles for 500 please

[–] Bonerchewer@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

This genuinely would tilt me to space. BB is the only coach I've ever known in football and he's been amazing for the Pats. He's one half of the greatest athlete/coach combo of all time. He gave the club 6 fucking superbowls.

If you want to move on from him, fine, but let him finish the season or move on his terms. He's earned that.

This genuinely would make me question my support for the pats.

[–] minimumhatred@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Belichick just signed a multiyear deal in the offseason and nobody expected the Patriots to be that good this year either. I don't think he gets fired this year.

[–] ContinuumGuy@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

They'd at least fly him back, right?

[–] thatattyguy@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

O hai test balloon.

[–] mechanical_dialectic@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Call me when this story isn’t relying on a source from Ben Volin.

I’m not saying it’s impossible. If Bill walks out in Frankfurt with his Frank furt then yeah, can him. He’s not going midseason barring completely un-Belichek behavior

[–] gord1to@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

they should trade him to the raiders

Wait until after the season and offer him some kind of position within the organization. If he does not take that, do the mutual decided to part ways thing.

Bottom line is the man coached you to 6 SBs. No need to do this mid season

[–] SurprisedPatrick@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Do Pats fans genuinely want to see him fired?! That seems aggressively short sighted to me.

Who are you gonna get that’s better?!

Assume he’d retire but I feel like 50% of the teams in the league would be ecstatic to have BB.

Best defensive game planner to ever do it. And he’s like a head coach and gm in one.

[–] MRlll@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

What happened to that so-called extension from like 3 weeks ago....

[–] Civil-Sea226@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Unless a medical emergency, it’s not happening

[–] Sox857@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

all good things come to an end whether fired, retirement, terms cannot be agreed upon nothing last forever so idk why yall trippin over this .

[–] johnmadden18@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

“Based on my conversations, I don’t think it’s 100% that Belichick finishes out this season,” Volin wrote in a column published Friday. “These next two games before the bye are huge, particularly the Germany game, which is practically the team’s Super Bowl for the Krafts. If Belichick loses at home to the Commanders and then to the Colts, and comes home from Germany with a 2-8 record, I think there’s a chance the Krafts could make the move in the bye week and install Jerod Mayo as the interim coach for the final seven games.”

Quite a few credible Patriots people seem to believe this is at least POSSIBLE, but isn’t the source on this Ben Volin?

Has Volin ever broken a legit Patriots story before? I can’t remember one.

Josh mcdaniels needs a job

[–] MikeFrancesa66@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I’m sorry, but if the Patriots fire him mid season that would be disgraceful. I get they have to do what’s best for the team, but I think Belichick has done more than enough to have earned the right to go out gracefully. Who would even take over mid season? BoB???

[–] FlavoredBongWater@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

And the new coach of the 2024 New England Patriots

Josh McDaniels ft: Matt Patricia!

[–] sabertale@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

We'll take him 🙋‍♂️

[–] Dave_Pumpkins_01@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Am i the only one here who thinks Bill just looks checked out? I get he's an all time great and everything, but if he just doesn't care anymore you have to move on.

[–] _Dream_Writer_@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

oh well, it was a good run.

wait, just fire him, and then the bears can hire him or something. I'll take it.

[–] Brownhog@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Didn't he just get paid a fuck ton of money? Like a fuckton even compared to other high profile coaches? You've got him for X more years man. May as well use him. Hire a head coach and a GM and let Bill be the DC. I'm sure he wouldn't like that, but he can dab his eyes with millions of dollars when he goes home. Also fire Steve Belichick because he looks like drugs.

[–] reamkore@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Go home NESN.Com. You’re drunk.

[–] UniqueNobo@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

i’m hoping this does happen, purely because this dude deserves the disrespect. he quit us by writing his resignation on a fucking napkin.

it’s not going to happen, but it would be great if it does.

[–] cbq88@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

No way would Bill deserve to get fired mid season regardless of the Pats record

[–] tiltbuiltlandscape@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

After what this dude has done for that team and that organization.

If that actually happened, just fucking wow.

Although someone mentioned his attitude with players and that would be pretty ironic and a bit hilarious.

[–] johnny-tiny-tits@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Firing Belichick mid-season would be one of the all-time most disrespectful things any front office has ever done to a coach. I don't even like him, and I despise the Patriots, but them firing him, at all for any reason, would piss me off.

No, that's a guy that you first politely ask what his plans for the future are in the offseason, gauge whether he was thinking about moving on himself, and if he's not, then go through the process of saying you're moving on without him, in the most respectful way possible.

[–] iseeapes@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

This makes a lot of sense...

They can hire Matt Patricia before the stampede of teams try to get him at the end of the season. /s

[–] taffyowner@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

That’s not going to happen… if anything they’ll let him finish out this year, and then announce his own resignation.

[–] internetTroll151@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I thought he just got a new contract?

[–] Fancy_Load5502@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Bill will cement his legacy as a defensive genius that lucked into finding the GOAT quarterback. Without Brady, Bill's head coaching career amounted to exactly squat in a dozen or so seasons.

[–] Dorkamundo@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Yea, not a chance.

[–] fukputinswar@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

That’s the stupidest thing I’ve ever heard

[–] DCBillsFan@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Zero chance. I'd love it, but the fan base would riot if he didn't get to go out on his own.

[–] ntslade@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

If he gets fired midseason, he’d be hired as a head coach somewhere else by the end of that week

[–] Glasband@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Taking the "BYE" week a little too literally

[–] reddit-is-greedy@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I am sure if he hires a young Asian female who gives happy endings as a trainer, kraft will let him slide

[–] 6gc_4dad@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago
[–] Titanman2021@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Bill will still have his job next year.

[–] babyjaceismycopilot@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Bill to the Raiders?

[–] PRAWGasol@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I’m a Ravens fan and this disgusts me.

[–] Dramatic-County-1284@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Even if the patriots fire him he won’t be unemployed for long as long as he wants to coach he will have a job in this league I think

[–] flirtmcdudes@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

It would be insane if they fire him mid season, after all the success he has had and what he has done for the franchise. No way in hell it happens

[–] JealousAd3375@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Didn't he just get a contract extension? No way he gets fired midway through the season.

[–] nonstop158@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Did you want the next Hitler? He’s gonna spread the Patriot Way worldwide.

[–] dlte24@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

That wouldn't be a happy ending. Weird, Kraft usually is a fan of those.

[–] PAUMiklo@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Just in time for harbaugh, he's got the cheating down already, now he just has to work on his scowl.
