Makes it easier to clean wet waste off of the seats without leaving a stain behind. Also requires less intense cleaner since stains aren't such an issue. Overall a good thing!

Much more prone to damage though.

Part of the reason a maquette is preferred is that from high heels to the pointy corners on plastic art portfolios, sharp objects can’t get adequate purchase through the pile to do damage; it’s rare for maquette to be cut through use.

Comparatively, even very heavy duty vinyl will be prone to damage, especially in an upholstery situation. The tensions applied across the fabric, coupled with the thousands of arses a week on it (plus their shopping, suitcases, etc), will see this degrade much quicker.

Was confused then saw this is the London community. Now it all makes sense. London needs easy to clean seats because of what a shithole it is.
