I think some Greek comrades on this site pointed out that the Communist Party had to survice some pretty intense persecution during the millitary dictatorship days, and one of their strategies was to become incredibly insular, so most of the party leadership is supposedly pretty old, with almost all of our beloved boomer-brainworms. However supposedly the average age of the membership is dropping pretty rapidly, because the liberals and broader right is being perceived as looting the country on behalf of the EU/Germany.

They're okay. They lead the second internationalist position in relation to the Ukraine war in condemning both sides, platforming and boosting parties that support their position while maligning and deplatforming parties that hold the anti-fascist third internationalist position contrary to what they believe is the correct position. Even with that in mind they still practice revolutionary defeatist actions against their own bourgeois state and work to undermine NATO on their own turf and encourages all other parties to do the same.
They do good things and they do bad things. I may not like everything they do and will butt heads with them like a raging ram but they do deserve recognition and critical support for their actions.

'anything culturally progressive must be a secret plot by western NGOs so lets discard all of it'
how current is that reputation?
I mean it's pretty common for a lot of Communist or left parties that manage to be successful on a wider scale. The working class is pretty socially conservative and it can lead to the party adopting those stances. At least that's the case with our Communist party. It has a lot of rural support and as a result it leans more socially conservative. I'm probably more socially conservative than most on this site and it's because I'm a product of my culture. I've grown but there are some things I still strongly disagree with others on this site on.
I can only speak for murica. But my experience is that the working class here isnt so much "conservative" as "don't give a fuck." Like yeah they aren't professional class Politically Correct, but they generally dont seem to give a fuck about social issues so long as you do your job. Like not saying I dont deal with plenty of hogs, but they arent the majority in my experience.
