Oh man. I was always skinny, and enjoyed it. My husband asked me to bulk a little, ok fine, then menopause oh no, I never had torso fat before, I got boobs, was not looking for that but at least it balances what I gained around the middle. 5'9" and went from a lean ruler shape (32-29-33) which admittedly is thin for my height but how I'd always rolled through life, to 38-31-40.

There is no spot reduction without surgery, weight goes where it will.

I'll take some extra hips. I have none and to fit some of my new clothes properly, I need to wear hip/butt shaping shorts. Downside is I can't wear midi skirts with the shorts on.

Literally upvoted because her hair visibly grew out in the time it took to gain weight and that delights me.

I told myself gaining a few pounds would make me feel more femme. That was only an excuse to eat more oreos, and it didn't make me feel more femme.

[–] youcantreadthis@quokk.au 15 points 1 day ago

Did it make you feel like you had eaten delicious oreos?

You don't think an ass can be too fat?

[–] Drekaridill@lemmy.wtf 17 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I've learned to not answer that question

[–] Wizard_Pope@lemmy.world 4 points 1 day ago

Oh we are not talking in normal fatness scale here

[–] Filetternavn@lemmy.blahaj.zone 12 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Okay, I'd really like some curves, which is why I put on weight, but it mostly went to my tummy so now I have to lose it again bc I don't feel like it flatters me >~<

[–] riwo@lemmy.blahaj.zone 3 points 19 hours ago

sameee, except it wasnt even on purpose, i just at some point gave up losing weight, when i should have been just content with were i was, and let myself go :<

[–] trslim@pawb.social 10 points 1 day ago

i wouldn't mind my butt getting bigger tbh,(its tiny right now)

[–] djsoren19@lemmy.blahaj.zone 3 points 22 hours ago (1 children)

that's the thing, you can't just eat, you also gotta exercise. If she was doing good abdomen exercises like crunches, she'd be left with just a big ass, which is always a win.

[–] chonglibloodsport@lemmy.world 14 points 20 hours ago (1 children)

Exercises targeting certain areas of the body don’t work if your goal is to move fat around.

The unfortunate truth is that fat cells don’t move around, they’re stuck exactly where they are. All they can do is swell up or shrink as they store or release energy. You can of course grow more fat cells (this happens as you get overweight) but their locations tend to genetic (as is your whole body plan).

[–] Quokka@quokk.au 7 points 20 hours ago* (last edited 18 hours ago) (2 children)

Being trans does move our fat location around, so weight cycling in early days can help “redistribute” it to the new places but that will happen naturally over time.

[–] chonglibloodsport@lemmy.world 4 points 17 hours ago (1 children)

I believe it’s still just growing new fat cells in locations you didn’t have them before. Your old fat cells stay where they are.

[–] Quokka@quokk.au 2 points 17 hours ago

Pretty much, people say redistribution but it’s only new growth elsewhere. Eventually your old fat cells will die off and you will only gain the weight in the new locations.

Is that what they call trans fat?

[–] harambe69@lemmy.dbzer0.com 5 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Is she 183cm? She looks way thin at 80kg to be the average woman's height.

[–] Hellstormy@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 8 hours ago

I look similar with 80kg at 173cm, so definitiv also possible with some muscle
