  2. Off-topic posts will be removed. If you don't know what "Leopards ate my Face" is, try reading this post.
  3. If the reason your post meets Rule 1 isn't in the source, you must add a source in the post body (not the comments) to explain this. If the reason is in the source but is tedious to find (e.g. in a lengthy video), you must add an explanation for where it is.

Jenner noted that the policy could affect her ability to vote, adding that she did not believe the policy was "really thought out, what this means."

Oh, no, it was thought out: demonize and literally cast out trans people, removing their ability to work, move away, or be vocal in support of themselves. Then you move them into camps, either for "their protection" or to "protect society from them".

My favorite part is:

"I don't blame President Trump. I love him."

Their supreme leader can do not wrong.

Totally not a cult, though.

[–] Generica@lemmy.world 36 points 2 days ago (1 children)

She described having the sex marker M on her passport as a "big problem," adding: "I don't blame President Trump. I love him." Jenner said she appealed to him for help but received no response. Then the iron door to the gas chamber was slammed shut and locked from the outside. No further comment from Jenner has been forthcoming since.

The policy was not really thought out?

It was exactly what Trump and his Heritage buddies wanted. Guess the one who didn't really think things through is one Caitlyn Jenner.

[–] aramis87@fedia.io 45 points 2 days ago

She thought she was one of the "good ones" who wouldn't be affected. I guess the problem with focusing so much on sports instead of education is that you never heard of Himmler's "one good Jew" speech. Which was essentially that everyone knew "one good Jew" that they would save but if they did that, almost every Jewish person in the country would be saved, so there would be no exceptions for "good" Jewish people. [Excluding, of course, Hitler's mother's Jewish doctor, who Hitler ordered the Gestapo to protect, and whom Hitler eventually helped emigrate to the US, along with all his personal wealth.]

I'm a trans woman living abroad. I'm in the middle of reviving my documents from my birth country because my US passport is about to expire but I can't renew it. It has caused a ton of stress as you'd Imagine. I'm grateful I have a second country to fall back on, but a lot of people in the same position don't, and it's absolutely terrifying and a human rights violation.

All just to say, on behalf of the trans community, choke on a gangrenous dick Caitlyn

Bonus: Kudos to my Central American birth country for understanding and being massively helpful after 30 years away

[–] HeyThisIsntTheYMCA@lemmy.world 14 points 2 days ago

My trans sister from abroad is in the process of getting her passport from her other citizenship and they only recognize her ghost identity. But it is better than the rights currently afforded under USA law so we're getting her protected.

"I haven't heard from him," she said. "He's kind of busy right now. My gender marker is not big on the issue. OK. So I get that, and I'm not blaming him whatsoever. I love the guy, and I love what he's doing."

Take a stance or STFU. If you love it, then STFU and take it like a beta. It's what you want.

[–] 8oow3291d@feddit.dk 12 points 2 days ago (1 children)

I love the guy, and I love what he’s doing.

What exactly is it she thinks Trump is doing so well? Trump genuinely has done nothing good, right?

[–] Sunflier@lemmy.world 14 points 2 days ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (2 children)

Trump genuinely has done nothing good, right?

Everything he's done has been good . . . for the rich. Overwhelmingly cut taxes for the top? Good for the rich.

Overwhelmingly print money? Good for the rich.

Decimate the communities of the poor? Good for the rich.

Hike up gas prices? Good for the rich.

Scapegoat a vulnerable population when people were starting to realize how caustic the Epstein class is? Good for the rich.

Killing off infrastructure and mass-transit projects? Good for the rich.

Spying on and setting up a massive database on the general population? Good for the rich.

Leaking all the government's personally identifiable information on its population to Musk via DOGE? Good for the rich.

[–] BarneyPiccolo@lemmy.today 6 points 1 day ago

Leaking all the government's personally identifiable information on its population to Musk via DOGE? Good for the rich.

With DOGE, everybody charged with securing these buildings and agencies just stood aside, and let these arrogant, disrespectful, UNSANCTIONED children, led and paid by a foreign Oligarch, plunder every bit of our data, and dismantle every regulatory agency that was investigating his companies. He went in with many investigations and lawsuits, and came out with none, and the combined governmental data of every single American citizen. It was nothing less than 21st Century PIRACY.

The first DOGE team that tried to breach a Federal Agency should have been gunned down in the lobby. That would have solved a whole lot of problems right there. Nothing in the aftermath of that action could compare with the irreparable damage DOGE did to this country. And on the heels of their success have been many more grifters, like Palantir, Lewandowski's Syndicate, the crypto scammers, the poly market riggers, the stock market manipulators, and more.

We've seen how MAGA falls apart at the slightest resistance. They NEVER think past the first step. A few bullets right up front, followed by a long, loud, noisy trial about the rights of foreign Sociopathic Oligarchs and the Epstein Predatory Class to exploit the rest of us for everything in our lives would have been productive by stopping their Blitzkreig right up front.

If it's one thing we've learned from these losers (by being even bigger losers), is that we should always call their bluff, because they are ALWAYS bluffing.

We may have lost in the past, but we have intelligence and morality, something they do not possess, respect, or even understand. We can learn and improve, they can't. They are virtuosically incompetent, and they'll stay stupid, and that's our competitive edge.

So it's time that we learned from our mistakes, pledge to not repeat them, form a coherent plan, and take back the planet from the MAGA Apes.

This ghoul wouldn't give a crap if she wasn't directly affected. Typical conservative.

I remember being a kid and for a while Jenner was literally The American. The athlete on the cereal box, on the TV, in the news.

Don't give in to the hate, people. Associate yourself with the polity that embraces a diverse, pluralistic democracy and who value science over faith. Else the leopards eat your face.

[–] elucubra@sopuli.xyz 13 points 2 days ago (2 children)

The leopard obesity epidemic is reaching epic proportions

wait, was she a trump supporter?

[–] wander1236@sh.itjust.works 99 points 2 days ago (2 children)

Caitlyn Jenner is one of the most famous examples of pulling the ladder up after yourself

[–] Clent@lemmy.dbzer0.com 34 points 2 days ago

She's clearly still got at least one foot on the ladder or she wouldn't be raising an issue here. That's a special kind of stupid.

[–] YesButActuallyMaybe@lemmy.ca 16 points 2 days ago

and also getting with vehicular homicide

True story: Bruce Jenner was an active race car driver in the 90s. The series he participated in was the Trans Am series.

[–] TheTechnician27@lemmy.world 9 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

I understand that your comment relies on the understanding that Caitlyn Jenner's deadname is Bruce Jenner, that the joke is that she participated in a racing series that's nearly "Am Trans", and that she went by Bruce when she was actively racing.

To avoid deadnaming, I'd still ask that you use language like "Caitlyn Jenner (formerly Bruce Jenner) was [...]" and "The series she participated in [...]" (or something similar). I totally get that none of your comment was meant as transphobia; I even used to think that "historical deadnaming" was the best way to write to avoid confusion, so I sympathize. I eventually realized, though, as e.g. on Wikipedia's article for Elliot Page, that using their real gender and their chosen name historically is not confusing and is just more accurate to how being transgender actually works – i.e. that it's not a decision somebody makes one day.

I don't think it's severe enough to rub up against Lemmy.World Terms of Service Rule 1.2 as "discrimination against queer groups", so this is just a polite request and hopefully food for thought.

[–] Skullgrid@lemmy.world 19 points 2 days ago (1 children)

The series he participated in was the Trans Am series.

This better not awaken something in them

Caitlyn Jenner is a total car crash.

No criticisms of this one.

CJ deserves this shit and I hope Donald makes her roll around in it. It's one thing when it's a random joe getting targeted for fascism and another when you're an independently wealthy collaborator who knows full well the monster you're supporting.
