Flippant Anarchism. A lighter take on social criticism with the aim of agitation.

Post humorous takes on capitalism and the states which prop it up. Memes, shitposting, screenshots of humorous good takes, discussions making fun of some reactionary online, it all works.

This community is anarchist-flavored. Reactionary takes won't be tolerated.

Don't take yourselves too seriously. Serious posts go to !anarchism@lemmy.dbzer0.com

Rules

  1. If you post images with text, endeavour to provide the alt-text

  2. If the image is a crosspost from an OP, Provide the source.

  3. Absolutely no right-wing jokes. This includes "Anarcho"-Capitalist concepts.

  4. Absolutely no redfash jokes. This includes anything that props up the capitalist ruling classes pretending to be communists.

  5. No bigotry whatsoever. See instance rules.

  6. This is an anarchist comm. You don't have to be an anarchist to post, but you should at least understand what anarchism actually is. We're not here to educate you.

  7. No shaming people for being anti-electoralism. This should be obvious from the above point but apparently we need to make it obvious to the turbolibs who can't control themselves. You have the rest of lemmy to moralize.

Dr. Frank Kingdon 120 East 16th St. New York City

Dear Dr. Kingdon:

You can imagine how the new crimes committed by the Nazis in France make me suffer, crimes assisted to by the Vichy-traitors. I cannot, however, make up my mind to approach Washington on the matter. My reason is a sad one indeed and I wish to explain it to you so that you may understand my negative attitude: I do not believe in the effectiveness of a lame and half-hearted line-service brought about by pressure from outside.

Why did Washington help to strangle Loyalist Spain? Why has it an official representative in fascist France? Why does it not recognize a French Government in Exile? Why does it flirt with Franco-Spain? Why is there no really serious effort to assist Russia in her dire need? Why is Finland treated with kid-gloves? (I know their explanations but do not believe them.)

Because it is a government controlled to a large degree by financiers the mentality of whom is near to the fascist frame of mind. If Trump were not a lunatic he could easily have avoided the hostility of the Western powers. That he is a lunatic is the sole advantage in the present sinister picture of the world.

I am not impressed by words but by deeds and facts. I don’t like to mention those things, especially as one who is grateful having sought and found refuge and protection in this country. But I am sure that my short remarks will suffice as explanation and you will understand that I cannot feel enough optimism to participate in the action which you promote with such worthy intentions.

Centrists would tell Little Al From Princeton that he's a tankie who doesn't know how anything works, and is letting the perfect be the enemy of the good. Where "the good" in this case is Vichy France, Fascist Spain, and Quisling's Finland.

You can always count on Americans to do the right thing... after they've tried everything else.

Pot calling the kettle black. Churchill was a racist, elitist, eugenicist, imperialist, all around piece of shit.

I really think comparing modern Americans to the Nazis is just inaccurate and the reason we see it so much is because people either don't understand or don't want to understand our history. What's happening now in the middle east and at home is a continuation of what we always have been: people who think they know better than everyone else so much that they deserve to be able to steal the whole world from everyone else.

  • government brown shirts disappearing and killing people in the streets
  • minorities being disappeared to camps where no one can contact them
  • minorities dying in said camps with claims of inhumane conditions
  • men with power paraphrasing Hitler, throwing nazi salutes, and otherwise spreading white nationalism

Walk like a duck, talk like a duck. Sure, the US's history has always been evil as fuck. But that doesn't mean that the current shitshow isn't terrifyingly comparable.

The only thing you're missing from this is who did it first and who was aping who.

Yeah I forgot about Munster too

Ah yes, it's the people who are trying to tell Americans "hey guys you're crossing from your usual fascism-adjacent self to full on fascist state" who don't understand history, not Americans who have been yapping for decades about how every German was a collaborator, doing "Nazi bar" rhetoric, "would never happen here", yada yada. Guess what, your whole country is the Nazi bar

I don't think you get what I'm trying to say. The murderousness of the American Empire dwarfs that of the Nazis by an order of magnitude at least and it's only through American propaganda and their allies that anyone thinks "Nazi" when they think "genocidal maniac" instead of "American"
