You are more correct than me, looks like his were at a rally following inauguration ceremony. CPAC was indeed Bannon about a month later. I do agree, your correction makes it worse.

And the US used taxpayer money to send Vance to Hungary to stump for Orbán there, right out in the open. In Hungary, using taxpayer money to fund an extremist foreign political party is a scandal. In the US, this matter is too deep in a flooded zone for anyone to care.
The fascists learned from the Communist International and emulating it. The mistake of the fascists in the past was the excessive tribalist mentality. The Axis never really coordinated but instead made alliances of convenience depending on the heat of the moment.

Couldn't Orban argue he was corrupting the US gov. in order to get their good favor ? Since the US has a legal way of doing it there was no reason to involve diplomats and intelligence services.
