I think it's an MMO joke. An item would drop from an enemy and the whole party could choose to "roll" for a chance to get it. "Need" would signify that you actually can use it for the role you play, "Greed" would signify that you just want it for something potentially down the line but can't use it right now.

Surprised that's not filtered. One Craigslist post offered a "potato holder," which would potentially set the potato back down 150 yards away.
