Joe’s full of shit as usual.

Control oil because he’s stuck in the ‘80s? Yes.

Control oil because petro state and anti-EV? Yes.

Control oil in an attempt to keep it on the petro dollar? Yes.

Pump and dump the stock market to make billions in insider trading? Fuck yes.

Because trump’s and his minions are idiots and don’t understand how interconnected and dependent the world economy is on the movement of energy products and their production ? Yes.

Because he’s worried about being prosecuted for anything in the Epstein files, and the judicial branch is threatening him with active investigations? Fuck no.

The reason he went to war is because Israel forced hm to, with the epstein blackmail.

Making money off of it is just natural for our gangster president and his administration. This war wasn't good for him, he was forced into it, just as Israel forced the last ones, and made him look like a bitch in every one by immediately violating any ceasefires he negotiated.

It really is that way, Epstein was Israel getting blackmail, and the president, and so many others, are compromised. It can't be ignored, and the big criticism of Joe's response here, is he's underhanding his criticism here, when he knows damn well it's because of blackmail, not distraction alone.

But what do they have that would cause any actual harm to him? You could release genuine videos of Trump fucking children, and he still wouldn't see any consequences.

I'm guessing it's something that would topple the entire establishment, not just narcissistic-in-chief.

I mean... yeah. Everything's a distraction for something with this administration. They hope you forgot about Greenland, or the failed insurrection in 2020, or, yeah, the Epstein files.

But seriously, it's not like anybody is getting arrested in the US over the Epstein files. People in other countries are facing consequences, but not in the US.

If you're in the US, you can be jailed for seeing video or pictures of CSA, while the actual perpetrators being named and shamed in the files are getting away with it. So is the crime the CSA or the knowledge that powerful people are doing it? It should be the CSA. I don't think people should be able to possess CSAM, but if the people doing it are known and getting away with it, is it a crime to see what they did or is it a crime to know who did it to whom?

The Constitution doesn't say anything against raping children, so it's perfectly okay, as long as you're a MAGA.

[–] Wilco@lemmy.zip 19 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Everything Trump does is either; A: a distraction from the Epstein files, or B: a grift, or C: both A and B

[–] winkerjadams@lemmy.dbzer0.com 15 points 1 day ago (3 children)

You forgot C: someone hurt his feelings with D: all of the above

[–] jballs@sh.itjust.works 4 points 1 day ago

Dude literally ran for president because Obama hurt his feelings at the White House Correspondents Dinner.

[–] Wilco@lemmy.zip 4 points 1 day ago

Yep. My multiple choice answers did not account for the Manbaby in Chief.

oh, I mean, it dipped way down in the news for a few cycles, but people were still talking about it, and now it's popped back into the news, especially since former AG Pam Bondi has, since getting fired, has decided that she can now ignore her Congressional subpoena to testify before the House Oversight Committee regarding her fuckup with the release of the Epstein files.

This is very transparently evasion and contempt of congress (a crime). How congress decides to proceed from here is anyone's guess.

Former MMA fighter turned most popular podcaster in the country, turned maga tool. He used to be a bernie supporter I hear. Had him on his show just last year. But also pretended to believe the president even when he did that. It's all in bad faith, he's a cynical piece of shit.

[–] artyom@piefed.social -1 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I can't agree but I also don't have a better explanation. I think he's just a deranged individual and trying to explain anything that he does or says is a fruitless endeavour.

[–] teyrnon@sh.itjust.works 3 points 1 day ago (1 children)

The real story is that Israel has the president dead to rights on epstein blackmail and forced him into the war. Distraction isn't the reason for this war, blackmail is. It really is like that, and that blackmail is not relegated to the gangster president, a critical mass of the ivy league and ruling class are compromised.

Which is to say nothing of what Russia has on them. Or corporations, other oligarchs. This is why you don't elect corrupt aristocrat crooks to office. Now we can't get rid of them either seemingly.

[–] devolution@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago

Emuluments Clause. Apparently if you are white and a male, you can wipe your ass with it.
