Thomas and Alito? They're the most blatant bribe-takers of the bunch

Edit: read the article, he didn't specify but yeah probably them.

Even though Dems wouldn’t have anywhere close to 60 Senators, a massive bloodbath during these 2026 Midterms may convince at least a few republican senators that their political careers would be over by remaining tied to the Trumpstein crooks. Of course, let’s first win these Midterms, and then see about effecting real change to save this Democracy.

Only if you get 60 willing senators. I'm not holding my breath on that one.

No. California is like 65 Wyomings. It's rigged on purpose.

[–] Alwaysnownevernotme@lemmy.world 5 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

Closer to 80 wyomings.

Our 52 representative 2 senators

Vs their 1 representative and two senators.

So the average wyomian has around 4 times our general representation.

But in specifically the Senate, the more Influential body, they enjoy 80 times our representation.

What I'm asking is, are there even enough seats up for election that it could happen in a fever dream.

[–] drzoidberg@lemmy.world 4 points 1 day ago (1 children)

If enough Dems get elected for a super majority in both branches, it's possible. But in the Senate, it would need to be 61 seats, because that scumbag Fetterman isn't an actual Democrat.

Yeah, what I'm asking is, how many gop seats are up for election

Edit: wiki says 22 gop seats and 13 dem seats. So barely possible. Don't think it's feasible.

I can hear the media 'outrage' over the 'democratic overreach' already.

Hoping a single party in four years will fix the absolutely huge gaping holes in the American constitution is a pipedream

It would take a military remaking of the constitution and forcing the states to sign it.

It's clear that balance works and that balance has been removed

It's clear that corporate money and foreign influence has completely broken the democratic model

No entity should be able to buy influence from politicians or have any more influence than any individual voter, trying to buy politicians should mean global assets stripped and minimum life in prison, no parole, no appeal.

America needs a military coup.
