I will never think of the new Dark Matter and not think of the older Dark Matter and be annoyed that they just used the same name as an existing show.

The old show was not great. It was barely good. Using its name still feels sketchy to me.

It's based on a book of the same name though so can't really blame them for the fact another, unrelated show used it for TV first.

I completely agree

The old show was not great. It was barely good.

It probably wouldn't have gotten as many seasons if it weren't slotted between the expanse and killjoys when it aired.

Interesting, for some reason I assumed this was done after a single season. I think it's already covered most of the novel, so this would be new stuff written exclusively for TV. Not sure if I will continue watching, although I did enjoy the first season, as there's a lot of other stuff to watch out there and the first season worked fine as a self-contained story.
