Long time since I played, so I get wanting to nerf special land cards, but what is the tap adding? Im not familiar with that symbol in mtg.

The tap adds colorless mana, which is often used to pay generic mana costs.

It's colorless mana. You can use it to pay generic mana costs, and some costs explictly require colorless mana, like [[Deceiver of Form]]

Oh im used to to a 1 in a circle. Thanks.

The number in a circle format means "mana of any color," whereas the curvy-diamond [?] shape is specifically colorless mana. You can use colorless mana to pay a mana-of-any-color cost, but you can't use colored mana to pay for something that requires colorless.

Ok I quit before anything required colorless mana.
