Off subject, and I'm glad france pulled out here, but I read in WWII, the Vichy had gold stashed in some American protectorate in the Caribbean, and for whatever reason the US wanted to protect it, and the limeys every time they needed a loan sent a fleet out that way and called up the US saying it's cool you don't lend us the cash we are just taking this vichy gold, and the US would come through on a new loan.
