I saw an interesting thing happen today. A rebel was being arrested by the MP's. Rather than being taken, he pulled the pin on a grenade he had hidden in his jacket. He killed himself and took the captain of the command with him.

But it occurred to me: the soldiers are paid to fight, and the rebels aren't

What does that tell you?
