hugbckt's hog ended up in my box, which is a euphemism for him mailing me a sample of his new soap base. Since I'm working my way through my boar brushes, it only made sense to use a boar with this lard based soap.

1st pass WTG 2nd pass XTG. Socially acceptable shave, a fair amount of irritation on moustache area. My first time using an RK blade, I would say I'm not impressed. I had a lot of trouble getting it as close as I wanted.

Shave 57 of the brain bowl
I had a shave and a haircut from our lady barber today. It was a DFS, but nowhere near a BBS shave. That's a good setup for a gratuitous shave this evening :)
Final shave with the Whole Hog soap tester. Overall it's a really nice soap base. Took as much water as I wanted to give it with great slickness. My only real complaint is the lack of scent!
I'm definitely looking forward to seeing where u/hugbckt goes with this stuff.
Close two pass shave with a couple nicks on my chin from rushing. This is my 50th shave with a straight razor, and I'm finally starting to feel like I sort of know what I'm doing.
I was lucky to get a sample of Whole Hog 3.0. I started off and had that shit, I already broke it moment. I kept working at it and it quickly went full-on yogurt mode. I followed the Precision Loading method and ended up with gobs of lather with a beautiful sheen.
Result was excellent. I think you're on to something here u/hugbckt. If you keep going, I think SBS and FNZN are going to have some real competition.
